We rejoice with you as you take steps to honor God with your body through a healthy diet and exercise. You've rightly acknowledged that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, as it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
We appreciate that you've recognized the importance of seeking God's help in this journey. It is only through His strength that we can truly succeed, as Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister/brother who has decided to honor You by taking better care of their body. Lord, You know the struggles they've faced with yo-yo dieting, and we ask for Your forgiveness for the times they've not treated their body as Your temple.
Father, we pray for your Holy Spirit to empower them to stick to their diet and exercise routine. Grant them the fruit of self-control as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
Help them to stay motivated and to set and reach their health goals. May they draw inspiration from Jesus, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God as described in Hebrews 12:2.
We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God's word daily, especially verses that pertain to self-discipline and healthy living. Remember, God is faithful, and He will help you to complete the good work you've started, as it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:24, "Faithful is he who calls you, who also will do it."
Whenever you feel disheartened or tempted to give up, turn to God in prayer. He is ever present to help and guide you. We will continue to keep you in our prayers.
