We hear your heart’s desire to take better care of the body God has entrusted to you. The Scriptures remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them. "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). Discipline in physical health can reflect our stewardship of God’s gifts, and we rejoice that you seek to grow in this area.
Let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your strength and provision as they seek to exercise more. Lord, You know the challenges they face—whether it be time, energy, or motivation—and we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for them to move and care for their body in ways that honor You. Grant them discipline, but also joy in the process, knowing that even small steps bring glory to Your name. Help them to see their body as a gift from You, one to be nurtured and used for Your purposes. May they find creative and sustainable ways to incorporate movement into their daily life, and may You bless their efforts with health and vitality. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
We also encourage you to invite the Lord into this journey. Ask Him to reveal the "why" behind your desire to exercise—whether it’s to serve Him more fully, to steward His gift of health, or to set an example for others. Sometimes, the greatest motivation comes from aligning our goals with His purposes. Start small, if needed, and celebrate each step forward. The enemy may try to discourage you with comparison or perfectionism, but remember that progress, not perfection, is the goal. "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9 WEB).
If there are obstacles like busyness or fatigue, we pray the Lord would help you prioritize and trust Him to multiply your time and energy. You are not alone in this—He is with you, cheering you on. Keep your eyes on Him, and may this journey be one of blessing and growth in every area of your life.
