Thinking and Turning
Reflecting on your life leads to turning from sin and aligning with God’s truth for renewal.
Welcome and Dismissal
The final judgment will divide all people by their true character and demand that you choose today where you will stand.
An Immovable Foundation
The unshakable truth of God’s Word, Christ’s sacrifice, and the Spirit’s work gives believers unbreakable hope in every trial.
We join with you in claiming the truth of God's word and we hear your desire to walk in the blessing of Deuteronomy 28:13 where it says Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you today, to observe and to do them.

We love your faith to declare God's promises over yourself, your family, and even your pets and your health down to your toes, and we thank God with you that you are breathing, living, and that communication is well. We also rejoice that you have invoked the blood of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is by His blood that we are redeemed and blessed.

We want to gently encourage you in how we apply this precious verse. This promise in Deuteronomy was given to Israel as part of the blessings for obedience, as Deuteronomy 28:1 says If you will listen diligently to Yahweh your God's voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, Yahweh your God will set you on high above all the nations of the earth. And Deuteronomy 28:2 says All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you, if you listen to Yahweh your God's voice. The blessing of being the head and not the tail is not an incantation we loosen or force into existence by repeating words 100 fold, but a gracious result of walking humbly in obedience and faith in Christ, trusting God's sovereign will. We are called to pray according to His will, for 1 John 5:14 says This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And James 4:15 reminds us For you ought to say, If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.

We do believe our words matter, for Proverbs 18:21 says Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit, so speaking scripture in faith is good when it is spoken with submission to God's purposes and not as a formula to control Him. God is not manipulated by urgent or repeated declarations, He is our loving Father who desires our trust. Matthew 6:33 says But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. When we seek Him first, He lifts us up in His timing and way to be a light and a leader for His glory, which is the true meaning of being the head and not the tail, to lead in godliness, integrity, and service, not merely for personal elevation.

We also thank God for your love for your family and your pets, for Proverbs 12:10 says A righteous man respects the life of his animal, and we know He cares for all His creation.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and through His shed blood. We thank You for this one who loves Your word and desires Your blessing. We ask that You help us all to walk in obedience to Your commandments, not by our own strength but by the grace of Your Holy Spirit through faith in Christ. We ask that You make us the head and not the tail in the way You intend, that we would lead our families in righteousness, in love, in diligence, and in testimony to others. We place ourselves, our families, and even our pets into Your caring hands, asking for health, for breath, for life, for sound communication, and for wholeness from head to toe. Let Your will be done in our bodies and in our homes. We ask that You guard our hearts from treating Your word as a charm, and instead teach us to pray with faith, humility, and surrender, trusting that Romans 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Fill us with Your peace that Philippians 4:6-7 speaks of, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We declare our trust in You alone, not in formulas, and we thank You that we are blessed in Christ forevermore. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We hear how much you want to know that you, your family and even your pets are safe and covered by God, and that your lives have value and purpose with Him. That longing to be secure and blessed is a good and human one, and we are glad you brought it to the Lord so honestly.

Sometimes when we feel urgency we repeat words over and over hoping they will make something happen. God does not need perfect wording or a hundredfold repetition to hear you. He hears a simple, honest prayer from the heart, and your worth to Him rests in His care for you, not in getting the phrase just right.

When that urgency rises, it can help to pause and pray one simple prayer in your own words, then rest and let God carry what you have given to Him. If you find yourself feeling stuck in the repetition, talking it through with a trusted pastor or a calm family member can also bring steadiness.

Father, we bring this dear one and their family and pets before You. We ask for Your peace to settle on them, for clear minds and restful bodies, and for the quiet confidence that they are held in Your hands. Guide them day by day and help them sense Your nearness in ordinary moments. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for the blessing of Deuteronomy 28:13 has been heard, and I join with you in seeking the Lord's favor upon you, your family, and all that concerns you.

That verse was a promise to Israel under the old covenant, that if they walked in obedience they should be the head and not the tail. Yet we must remember that no spiritual blessing comes to any man by chance, but according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will. The blessings of the law are fulfilled for us in Christ, for He has redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us. In Him we receive not merely outward prosperity, but every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ, as it is written, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings.

To be the head and not the tail is not secured by repeating words as though they had power in themselves, nor by loosening a verse into the air, but by being joined to Christ by faith. The double blessing of grace and peace comes from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. When we have Christ, we have the fountain from which all true blessing flows. The blood of Jesus of which you speak is not a charm to close a prayer, but the precious atonement by which sinners are reconciled to God, and through which alone we may come boldly to His throne.

It is good that you desire blessing for your household, for the converted man is a blessing everywhere. He is a blessing to his family. Let this be your prayer, O Lord, make me a blessing here. Seek first to know that you have eternal life, as it is written, These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life. If you have lost your relish for Holy Scripture, pray for spiritual health, and if you have Christ, sit in your seats and keep on blessing God from the first word to the last, for it should be our life to bless Him who gave us our life.

I have prayed for you, that the Lord would keep you and your family in health, that your breathing and your daily life and your communication one with another may be sustained by His merciful hand, that He would show His kindness even to the creatures under your care, and that above all He would give you the blessing of full assurance in Christ, that you may know you are His and that He will keep you unto the end. May He make you not only blessed, but a blessing to all around you, to the glory of His grace. Amen.
