Desperation

Good and Faithful Servant
I am truly desperate. I divorced my ex-wife because of my infidelities. She asked for the divorce a little less than a year ago, and everything had been calm, until today that someone sent her material about a woman I went out with once after all this time had passed. I really don’t know how that material reached her, but it did. She threatened me, telling me to watch my back, that she would ruin my life, and that she would everyone interested whats going on. She is enraged. I beg You, Lord Jesus, I implore You: please do not let her threats find a place. Let them have been only threats. I know I made a mistake, but I had already left her life. Please remember my mom and my siblings; we have already been through so much. Please pray for us.

We hear the desperation in your heart and we join with you before the Lord Jesus in this moment of fear and anguish. We are thankful that you have called upon the name of Lord Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and no other name by which we have access to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

We must speak to you plainly in love about what you have confessed. You said you divorced your ex-wife because of your infidelities. The Word of God calls this adultery, and it is a grave sin against God and against the covenant of marriage. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 and You shall not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14 We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God designed it, and to break that covenant through unfaithfulness brings deep wounds and lasting consequences. We do not say this to condemn you beyond hope, but to call you to true repentance, because He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Proverbs 28:13

We also hear your fear about the material that was sent to your ex-wife concerning a woman you went out with once after the divorce, and her threats to ruin your life and to tell everyone. It is understandable that she is enraged, for the pain of betrayal does not heal quickly, and even after a divorce is finalized the wounds can remain very raw. While we pray with you for protection and for peace, we also encourage you not to pray only that her threats would have no effect or that this would be hidden. God desires truth and repentance more than cover up. We urge you to examine your heart before Him, to fully own the wrong you did without excuse, and to seek His cleansing. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

Regarding her anger and threats, we pray that the Lord would soften her heart and restrain any desire for vengeance, and that He would guard you and your family from harm. Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19 and But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44 We pray that you would be given grace to love and pray for your ex-wife rather than only fearing her, to bless her and seek her healing even as you ask God for mercy for yourself. If threats to your safety become serious or specific, we encourage you to seek wise and godly counsel and also appropriate help to ensure safety while continuing to trust the Lord.

We also lift up your mom and your siblings before the Lord, as you asked. We know you said you have already been through so much as a family, and we pray the Lord would be near to you all now. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 and God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 May He strengthen and uphold you all. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

Concerning the woman you went out with once after the divorce, we want to encourage you that if God should lead you to another relationship in the future, it must be pursued not as casual dating but as courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ who will be a godly spouse, honoring purity until marriage, for sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and adultery and is outside God's will.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is desperate and afraid. Lord, You see his sin and You see his fear, You see the pain he caused his ex-wife and the pain now in his own heart and in his family. We confess before You his adultery and we ask for Your mercy and forgiveness as he confesses and renounces this sin. Wash him clean by the blood of Jesus and create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him. Help him to walk in honesty and integrity from this day forward, not hiding or minimizing, but living in the light.

Lord, we pray for his ex-wife. You know her hurt and her anger. We ask that You would comfort her, heal her wound, and turn her heart away from vengeance. Let no weapon formed against him prosper, but also let Your justice and Your mercy have their perfect work. Restrain any plan to ruin his life and let only what is true and redemptive come to light, and let threats give way to peace. We ask that You would protect his mom and his siblings, cover them with Your peace, guard them from fear and shame, and draw them all closer to You.

Teach him to trust You more than he fears man, to love his enemies and pray for those who threaten him, and to live at peace as far as it depends on him. Romans 12:18 Give him wisdom for what to do next, godly counsel, humble repentance, and the strength to face consequences with grace and truth. Restore to him the joy of Your salvation and lead him in a new path of purity and faithfulness if You should will marriage for him again.

We thank You that You hear us when we call on Jesus, and we ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for writing so honestly in such a frightening moment. To have had months of calm and then suddenly face angry threats would leave anyone shaken, and we hear your concern not only for yourself but for your mom and siblings who have already carried a lot.

We appreciate that you have owned your part in what led to the divorce. That honesty matters before God and as you move forward.

Right now the most urgent thing is to stay steady and not let fear push you into quick reactions. When emotions are this high, it helps to give space before responding to your ex-wife, keep any necessary communication brief, calm and in writing, and avoid trying to explain or defend the past in the heat of the moment. It can also be wise to quietly note what was said and when, and to talk with a trusted pastor or counselor who knows you, and if needed someone who can give clear guidance about protecting your reputation and family. You do not have to sort this alone.

We are carrying you and your family in prayer.

Jesus, we lift this brother to You, with his mother and siblings. Calm his fear, guard all involved from harm and rash words, and give him wisdom for each next step. Lead him in honesty and peace and cover his family with Your mercy. In Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Continue in faith and prayer. I also had a woman and was not faithful to her because of online porn. And was addicted to drugs. Now ive had to give up drugs and porn to go after a relationship woth Christ. I dont want to lose Father God and Lord Yeshua because I need him and I will be in the dark without him. I must always pray and worship God my Father and Yeshua my king. I must never stray from him. I hoped and prayed for a wife but the Lord insisted that I wait. My hope and my trust is in God that I dont fail or backside or tramgress the Lord. Chastity is not always easy to do. When my soul is in affliction I will pray and worship God my savior. In Lord Yeshuas name. Amen.

Your cry of desperation has been heard, and it is well that you have turned to the Lord Jesus in this hour of fear and sorrow. The threats that now alarm you, the anguish of your mother and your siblings, and the sin which has brought this trouble upon you are all before the eye of the Lord, who sees those who hope in His mercy.

You confess that your infidelities led to the breaking of your marriage covenant. This is not a light thing. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, ordained of God, and to violate it is to sin against God Himself as well as against your wife. Do not rest in that repentance which is only fear of consequences. Beware of that superficial repentance which is not better than the vomit of a dog, which comes of the flesh and is flesh. True repentance hates sin as sin, because there is a deadly poison in its sweetness, and therefore loathes it and leaves it with purpose of heart. It stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven in Christ and then repents more than ever, because it has spied out forgiveness. I pray that the goodness of God, which has spared you and kept your family through much sorrow, may lead you to such repentance.

There is tender mercy with God for sinners such as you and I. The Gospel does not ask of you a great price to earn pardon, but asks that you trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. When sinners trust in Jesus, He forgives all their sins without any upbraiding or drawbacks. His mercy goes before us, foreseeing our vast necessities and providing a boundless store of grace. If you have not already done so, look to Him whom you have pierced and mourn for Him, and believe that His blood alone can wash away both the infidelities that broke your marriage and every other transgression. Repentance and remission of sins go together, and both are the free gifts of His grace.

You ask that her threats may have been only threats and find no place. We will pray that the Lord in His providence would restrain harm, quiet rage, and protect you and your household, for the God of mercy can go before you and prepare a way of peace where now there seems only danger. Yet we must not ask God merely to hide consequences while the heart remains unchanged. Rather pray that God would give you a fear of Him which is true religion and holy reverence, and that out of that fear would come faith, repentance, and prayer. It is right also to act wisely and peaceably. Seek to do no further harm, speak no evil in return, and if threats are serious, seek godly counsel and lawful help, as one who would conquer a heart by meekness rather than provoke further strife. Commit your ex-wife also to the Lord, that He would have mercy upon her in her pain and anger, and that what has been meant for ruin might be overruled for good.

We will pray for your mother and your siblings, who have already been through so much. The Lord's tender thoughtfulness has not forgotten them. He knows their sorrows and their weaknesses, and His eye is upon those who fear Him and hope in His mercy. May He bear them up, give them peace in their home, and draw each one to trust in His dear Son.

Let me pray for you now. O Lord, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy, look upon this sinner who confesses his sin. Give him that repentance which is wrought by Thy Spirit, a complete change of mind with hatred of sin and honest determination by Thy grace to cease from it. Forgive him through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, and let that forgiveness produce in him true faith and the fear of the Lord. Restrain all wrath and violence, guard this family from harm, and let Thy goodness lead all concerned to repentance and to eternal life. Keep his mother and his siblings under Thy tender care, and let them see Thy mercy going before them in their burdens and sufferings, for Jesus sake. Amen.
