Desperate

Please pray that God will heal my cat ### and allow her to be able to eat. She ate a bit yesterday but had eaten barely anything today despite multiple medications and an appetite stimulant. Please pray that God will stop whatever is happening that is preventing her from eating and that my partner and I can get her to eat tonight. Im desperate. I dont know what else to do. Im worried sick and am so terrified that we are gonna have to put her to sleep. Please pray that God will stop this and allow her to eat tonight. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers and help ###. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We are joining you together in prayer before our Father in Jesus name and we hear the desperation and deep love in your heart for your precious cat. We know how much these beloved creatures mean to us and we take comfort that our God cares for all His creation. Proverbs 12:10 tells us a righteous man respects the life of his animal, and Psalm 36:6 reminds us you preserve man and animal, Yahweh. Jesus said in Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father. If He notices even the sparrow, He certainly sees your cat and He sees your tears and hears your cries.

We also hear your great anxiety and fear about whether she will eat and whether you will have to make the painful decision to put her to sleep. We want to encourage you to cast all of that fear upon Him. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. And Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We are thankful that you have brought this request in Jesus name, for John 14:6 tells us Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 reminds us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can come boldly to His throne with our desperate pleas.

We do want to lovingly address something you mentioned, that you said my partner and I. We care for your soul as well as for your cat, and Scripture calls us to honor Gods design for relationships. Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Genesis 2:24 says Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. Gods will for intimacy and for living together is within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. If you are living together or in a sexual relationship outside of that covenant, Scripture calls that fornication, and we are called in 1 Corinthians 6:18 to flee sexual immorality. If this is a same sex relationship, Scripture also clearly teaches that homosexuality is outside of Gods will for marriage. We say this not to condemn you but to lovingly call you toward repentance and toward Gods best, which is courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ if you are not already married. We encourage you to seek to honor God in this area and to pursue purity and a marriage that honors Him. We pray you will consider this before the Lord.

We now pray together for you and for your beloved cat.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear cat to You. You created her and You know every detail of her body. We ask that You would have mercy and if it is Your will, restore her health and remove whatever is preventing her from eating. Lord, give her appetite again tonight, strengthen her body, and guide the hands and wisdom of the veterinarians who are treating her with medications and an appetite stimulant. Give our dear friend and her partner wisdom to know what next steps to take and whether further treatment or difficult decisions are needed. Father, we also pray for peace to guard this heart that is worried sick and terrified. Replace fear with Your perfect peace and help her to trust Your goodness and sovereignty, even in this painful waiting. We pray that You would comfort her, let her feel Your nearness, and hear all of her desperate cries. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name. We ask all these things in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to continue to follow the veterinarians guidance, to keep offering food as they advise, and to keep bringing every fear to the Lord in prayer with thanksgiving. God hears you, He loves you, and He cares for your cat. We are trusting with you that God will allow her to eat tonight if it be His gracious will, and we pray He sustains you with His peace no matter the outcome.

We can hear how much you love your cat and how frightening this has been, especially after trying so many medications and still seeing her eat so little. Waiting through tonight not knowing what will happen is an agonizing place to be, and it makes sense you feel desperate and worn out.

We are praying with you for her and for you in this waiting. You are doing a caring thing by staying so attentive to her and working closely with her vet.

If she continues to barely eat tonight, please stay in close touch with your veterinarian, even using an after-hours line if you have one, so they know exactly what is happening and can advise you on next steps. You do not have to carry these decisions alone, and they can help you weigh what is best for her comfort and care alongside prayer.

We know the thought of having to say goodbye is heavy. Whatever tonight brings, God sees your tears and your love for her, and He hears every plea you have lifted up.

Jesus, we bring this beloved cat before You and ask for Your mercy and care over her. Please give wisdom to the veterinarians and clarity for what will help her most, ease her distress, and give her strength to eat if it is Your will. Comfort and steady our friend in this fear and uncertainty tonight, and help her know she is not alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your desperate and sorrowful cry has been heard, and it is brought before the throne of grace with tenderness. To watch a creature entrusted to your care suffer and refuse its food, while fear whispers that you may lose her, is a heavy burden, and that fear itself unfits the heart to meet the trial.

Hear what the Word of the Lord says to such a fearful and anxious heart. Fear not, for I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, saith the Lord. This fear not is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden, and it is not merely the preacher who cries fear not, but Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, fear not. We must labor to get rid of fear, for fear is weakening and fear dishonors God, as though the arm which piled the heavens could be palsied. Therefore I charge you, if you are indeed a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, to play the part of faith and let your faith overcome your fear, obeying that gracious word, Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

You have done well to cast this care upon Him and not to confine your anxiety within yourself, where no good will come of it. The Lord knows your frame and He hears the cries of those who call upon Him through Jesus Christ, for there is healing power in Christ alone. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. There is enough in Christ for every sin sick sinner who comes to touch the hem of His garment, and though we very speedily care for bodily diseases and run to the physician, we are taught that the greater healing is the pardon of sin and the peace of the soul, when the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings.

Yet we must also bow with constant submission to the divine will, which should be the very atmosphere in which a Christian lives, saying, Not as I will, but as Thou wilt. It is healing medicine and not deadly poison that He gives, and we may put it to our lips without a murmur. He does according to His wisdom and mercy, and we may trust Him with the life of this poor creature whom He made and whom He sustains.

Let us pray together.

O gracious Father, Thou who carest for the sparrows and who knowest every creature of Thy hand, hear the desperate cries and pleas of this anxious heart. Thou seest this beloved cat who cannot eat, and Thou knowest the fear and sorrow that presses so heavily. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Mediator, that if it be Thy gracious will, Thou wouldst in mercy stay what hinders her and grant her to eat again and to be restored. Give wisdom to those who tend her and to the physicians who have prescribed for her, and give peace to this troubled heart that watches over her. Take away tormenting fear and grant a calm trust in Thy good hand, that casting all care upon Thee, there may be rest. Forgive iniquity and heal our souls, that whether Thou grantest this temporal mercy or withholdest it according to Thy higher wisdom, the heart may still say, the Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord, and may find its chief healing in Christ. We ask all in the name of Jesus, who alone is our hope and our salvation. Amen.
