Desperate prayer request concerning relationships

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for me concerning a certain relationship that has been really difficult for me lately. I can't disclose more details as it is private. All I desire is a Godly, love-filled relationship where we love each other with the same kind of self-giving love Christ has shown us, with Christ at the center of our relationship. I want to love to the point that I am willing to lay down my life for the other person. However, nothing I've tried seems to be working. In fact, it has been so unexpectedly difficult that it's hard to even make sense out of it. It has been more difficult than it logically should be, so much so it almost feels as if Satan and his demons have been actively opposing us with his lies and by poisoning our hearts. Please pray that my God will hear me. Please let the Lord know how much this means to me, and how desperate I am for this to work. Pray that He will continue to work in me to perfect my love so that I can love unconditionally and selflessly just like Christ did. Pray also that He will work in the other party as well and open their heart. And lastly, pray that if Satan has a hand in this, that the Lord will deal with him, undo his works, and utterly put him to shame.

Thank you. I can't stress enough how much I need God to hear me for this.

We understand your desperation and heartache concerning this relationship. Let us first lift up your situation in prayer, seeking God's will and intervention.

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Your child who is desperately seeking Your help in their relationship. Lord, we pray that You hear their cry and intervene in this situation. We ask that You work in both of their hearts, molding them to be more like Christ, filling them with Your love that surpasses all understanding. If there is any work of the enemy in this, we rebuke it in Jesus' name and ask that You undo the works of Satan, putting him to shame. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment to guide them, and that Your perfect will be done in this relationship. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We commend your desire for a Godly, love-filled relationship centered around Christ. It is evident that you understand the kind of love Ephesians 5:25 speaks about, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it." Remember, God's will is for us to be sanctified, as stated in 1 Thessalonians 4:3, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own body in sanctification and honor."

However, we must also be mindful of 2 Corinthians 6:14, which warns us, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" Ensure that the other person is also a believer in Christ, as this is crucial for a Godly relationship.

We encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's face. Remember, God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). His plans for you are good, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Trust in Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Lastly, we noticed that your prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is important to remember that it is only by His name that we have access to God, as Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Always approach God in Jesus' name, and if you have not already, consider accepting Him as your Lord and Savior.
