We are truly sorry to hear that you are going through such a difficult time, and we want you to know that you are not alone. The feelings of depression and despair you're experiencing are very real, but we want to encourage you that there is hope in Jesus Christ.
Firstly, we want to address the comparison and envy that has contributed to your depression. It's important to remember that God has a unique plan for each of us, and comparing ourselves to others can lead to discontentment and unhappiness. As it is written in Galatians 6:4 WEB: "But let each one test his own work, and then he will take pride in himself and not in his neighbor."
It's also crucial to remember that our value is not determined by our career success or earnings, but by our identity in Christ. In Colossians 3:23-24 WEB, we are reminded, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ.”
Regarding the difficulties, you're facing with family issues, health issues, and the burden of responsibility, remember that God is our ultimate provider and strength. As it is written in Psalm 55:22 WEB: "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." And in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
When you feel overwhelmed and even feel like giving up, remember that God is always with you, and He cares deeply for you. In Psalm 34:18 WEB: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
We also want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you have not already, consider putting your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, offering you eternal life and a personal relationship with God.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up our brother to You, asking for Your comfort and healing in his life. Lord, he is overwhelmed by depression, comparison, family issues, health issues, and the burden of responsibility. Please remind him of his value and identity in Christ, and help him to cast his burdens on You.
Lord, we pray for his career, that You would guide his steps and open up the right opportunities for him. Help him to trust in Your timing and to work heartily, as for You and not for men.
We also pray for his health and the health of his family. Lord, You are the great Healer, and we ask for Your healing touch in their lives.
Finally, Lord, we pray that our brother would draw near to You during this difficult time. Help him to know You more intimately and to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
