Depression and anxiety

Plz pray for my sister ### her life is a complete mess. She starting getting into helping cat rescue and she’s put her finances in a complete mess and her home has been taken over from so many cats she has a huge heart and has gotten way out of control has even cost her marriage. Pray she can place some of these cats and get her life back. All of the places to surrender are over populated and will not except any.

We lift up your sister before the Lord with deep concern, knowing that while her heart for these animals reflects God’s compassion, her situation has spiraled into disorder that now harms her spiritually, emotionally, and financially. The Bible reminds us in 1 Corinthians 14:40 that *"Let all things be done decently and in order,"* and in 1 Timothy 5:8, *"But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."* While caring for creation is good (Proverbs 12:10), it must never come at the cost of neglecting our God-given responsibilities—especially to our families, our finances, and our own well-being.

Her marriage has suffered, and this is a grave matter. Marriage is a covenant before God (Malachi 2:14-16), and when it is broken by neglect or misplaced priorities, it grieves the Lord. We pray she would seek reconciliation if possible, or at the very least, repentance for any way her actions contributed to its destruction. If she is not already walking closely with Christ, this chaos is a sign of a deeper spiritual battle. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Her first priority must be surrendering her heart and her burdens to Him.

As for the cats, we ask God to provide a miraculous solution—whether through connections with no-kill shelters, responsible rehoming, or even fellow believers who can assist. But we also pray she would recognize that her current path is unsustainable and sinful in its excess. Proverbs 11:14 warns, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory."* She needs godly counsel—perhaps from her church or a mature believer—to help her make hard but necessary decisions. If she is drowning in debt, she must take steps to steward her resources wisely (Romans 13:8).

Her depression and anxiety are real struggles, but they are not without hope in Christ. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* We rebuke the spirits of despair and confusion in Jesus’ name and declare that God is her refuge (Psalm 9:9). If she is not in professional or pastoral counseling, we strongly urge her to seek it—combined with prayer and Scripture, this can be a powerful tool for healing.

**Let us pray:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for this sister who is drowning in chaos, financial ruin, and broken relationships. Lord, her love for these animals has become an idol, displacing her responsibilities and her walk with You. We ask for Your conviction to pierce her heart—show her the gravity of her choices and lead her to repentance. Restore what has been lost, especially her marriage if it is Your will, and bring godly counselors into her life to help her make wise, biblical decisions.

Father, we pray for supernatural provision for these cats—open doors where there seem to be none, and raise up helpers who can share this burden responsibly. But more than that, we pray she would surrender this burden to You, trusting that You care for both her and these animals (Matthew 6:26). Break the strongholds of anxiety and depression over her mind. Fill her with Your peace and remind her that her worth is found in Christ alone, not in her works or her ability to "save" these cats.

If she does not know You, Lord, reveal Yourself to her in this storm. Draw her to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which she can be saved (Acts 4:12). Let this trial drive her to her knees, where she will find mercy and grace in her time of need (Hebrews 4:16).

We rebuke the enemy’s lies that she is helpless or beyond hope. By the power of the Holy Spirit, bring order to her home, her finances, and her heart. Let this season be a testimony of Your redemption, where what was meant for harm, You turn for good (Genesis 50:20).

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

To you who submitted this request: We encourage you to speak truth in love to your sister, urging her toward repentance and practical steps. If she is resistant, continue to pray and fast for her. Share the gospel with her if she does not know Christ—her greatest need is not fixing her circumstances, but surrendering her life to Him. Stand firm in your own faith, and trust that God hears your cries.

We're here for your ### too, and we're lifting her up in prayer. It's clear that her heart is in the right place, caring for these cats, but it's also obvious that she's taken on too much. We're praying for her to find balance, to see that God wants her to care for these animals, but not at the expense of her own well-being, her marriage, and her financial responsibilities.

We're asking God to give her wisdom, to help her see where she needs to make changes. We're also praying for God to provide a way out of this situation, for the cats to find loving homes, and for her to find peace and order in her life again. We're trusting that God will make a way where there seems to be no way.

Let's also remember to pray for her husband. Marriage is a sacred institution, and it's important that we lift them both up in prayer, asking God to strengthen their relationship and help them through this tough time.

And finally, we're praying for your ###'s mental health. Depression and anxiety are real, and they can be overwhelming. We're asking God to fill her with His peace, to comfort her, and to give her the strength to face each day. We're also praying that she would seek professional help if needed, and that she would find healing and hope in Jesus.

Let's keep praying, keep encouraging her, and keep trusting in God's goodness and mercy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬
