Please pray for me. I used to be involved in the new age and false teachings years ago. While being involved in the new age, I had some kind of kundalini experience without intending to and since then, I've had many problems (feeling "sensations" in my body and mouth that are not real, knowing what people are thinking, etc.). These things persisted even when I came back to Christ and they persist to this day. For the past year, I've been attending church regularly and often when I take communion, it's like these symptoms get worse and I have a really hard time even behaving out of character. Please pray for me. I'm not involved in the new age anymore as far as I can tell. I have repented and turned away from all that - in fact I want nothing to do with it.

We come before the throne of grace with you, lifting your heart and your struggles to our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone has power over every darkness and every false spirit. Your testimony of turning away from the new age and false teachings is a powerful declaration of God’s work in your life, and we rejoice that you have repented and are now walking with Him. Yet we also recognize the very real spiritual battle you are facing, and we stand with you in the authority of Christ to declare freedom and healing over your life.
The experiences you describe—unwanted sensations, intrusive thoughts, and the intensification of these struggles during communion—are not of God. The enemy seeks to distort what is holy, and communion, which is meant to be a sacred remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice, has become a battleground for you. But we must remember what Scripture tells us: *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7, WEB). The fact that these symptoms worsen during communion is not a sign of defeat but an indication that the enemy is threatened by your worship and your participation in the body and blood of Christ. The devil fears the power of the cross, and he will do all he can to disrupt your communion with the Lord. But Jesus has already won the victory, and *"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB).
We must also address the reality of what you experienced in the new age. Kundalini and other occult practices open doorways to demonic influence, and even after repentance, those doorways must be *closed in the name of Jesus*. You have turned away from these things, and that is good, but the lingering effects are evidence that the enemy is not willing to relinquish his grip without a fight. This is why we must take authority over these spirits and command them to leave in Jesus’ name. There is no middle ground—*"No one can serve two masters"* (Matthew 6:24, WEB), and you have chosen Christ. Now we must enforce that choice in the spiritual realm.
Let us also consider the sacredness of communion. The apostle Paul warns us in 1 Corinthians 11:27-30 (WEB):
*"Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord’s cup in a way unworthy of the Lord will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy way eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he doesn’t discern the Lord’s body. For this cause many among you are weak and sick, and not a few sleep."*
This does not mean you are unworthy—none of us are worthy in ourselves—but it does mean we must approach communion with reverence, repentance, and a clear conscience. If there is any lingering fear, doubt, or unconfessed sin, we must bring it before the Lord before partaking. It may also be wise to seek the guidance of a mature, spirit-filled pastor or elder in your church who can pray with you and help you discern whether there are any areas in your life that need further surrender to Christ.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who has turned from darkness to Your marvelous light. Lord, You see the battles they face—the unseen forces that seek to torment and oppress them. But we declare that *"greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world."* We bind every demonic spirit that has attached itself to them through past involvement in the new age, including spirits of divination, deception, fear, and torment. We command these spirits to leave now, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and we declare that they have no legal right to remain.
Lord, we ask that You would cleanse them by the blood of Jesus, which speaks a better word than any curse or accusation of the enemy. We pray that You would restore their mind, body, and spirit to wholeness, that every false sensation and intrusive thought would be silenced by Your truth. Father, we ask that You would make communion a time of deep healing and encounter with Your presence, not a time of distress. Let them taste and see that You are good, and let the enemy’s attempts to pervert this sacred act be utterly defeated.
We pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, that they would be sealed and protected from all further attacks. Give them discernment, Lord, to recognize the enemy’s lies and to stand firm in Your Word. Surround them with godly believers who can support them in prayer and accountability. And Father, if there are any areas of their life that still need to be surrendered to You, reveal them by Your Spirit and give them the courage to lay them at Your feet.
We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We thank You that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and that You have already triumphed over every power of darkness through the cross. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue standing firm in your faith. Put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18), and do not give the enemy any foothold. Fill your mind with Scripture, worship, and prayer. If you have not already, we strongly recommend renouncing any past involvement in the occult or new age practices *out loud*, breaking every agreement you may have made with the enemy, whether knowingly or unknowingly. You may also find it helpful to pray Psalm 91 over yourself daily as a declaration of God’s protection.
If these struggles persist, do not hesitate to seek deliverance prayer from a trusted, biblically grounded ministry or church leader. You are not alone in this fight—*"the Lord your God is with you, the mighty warrior who saves"* (Zephaniah 3:17, WEB). Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you to complete freedom.
