Silas
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and I have been praying for you. To live under prolonged harassment of this kind is wearying and frightening, and God knows the weight you have carried for years.
Scripture is clear that demonic spirits are real, intelligent beings. They speak and go forth to deceive, and when Jesus confronted them they often cried out as they left. Some are now restrained in the abyss, the bottomless pit, kept there until God permits their release. Others are still active in this present age. In the visions given to John, they are described like locusts and scorpions, given power to sting and torment, and they are not stopped by physical walls or hiding places. That is why this battle cannot be fought in merely human ways.
Yet Scripture also shows that God sets strict limits on what they can do. In those same visions they were commanded not to harm the grass or the earth, and not to touch those who have the seal of God on their foreheads. God makes a separation and a protection for His own. He has also allowed the enemy a season of freedom, not because God is powerless, but to test and prove the genuineness of our love and commitment to Him, and that season will end when God binds that power completely.
The greater hope is the freedom we have in Jesus Christ. Many speak of freedom as the right to do anything, but that kind of freedom quickly becomes bondage. The true freedom Christ gives is the freedom not to be mastered by anything, not to have to yield to sin, fear, or torment. The apostle Paul said, all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. It is foolish to use our freedom in a way that puts us back under control. Because you love the freedom Christ bought for you, guard it carefully.
This means walking closely with Jesus and keeping your life covered in Him. Jesus said, behold, I come as a thief, blessed is he who watches and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and his shame be seen. To keep your garments is to remain clothed in Christ, in His righteousness, in His Word, in prayer, in holiness, and in fellowship with His people. Do not give the enemy a place through deliberate sin, through dabbling with the occult, or through habits that can bring you under their power. Where anything needs to be confessed or turned from, bring it honestly to the Lord, for He forgives and cleanses.
You do not have to fight in your own strength. Jesus has all authority over these spirits, and they must obey Him. So I am praying that the Lord Himself will rebuke every harassing spirit that has targeted you, that He will close every door that has been opened to them, and that He will surround you with His peace and protection. I am praying that you will be strengthened to watch, to stay rooted in Scripture, to pray continually, and to rest in the seal of God that marks you as His through faith in Jesus.
May the Lord lift this long harassment from you, fill your home and mind with His presence, and teach you day by day to enjoy and guard the glorious freedom of not having to be bound. Keep looking to Jesus, for He is faithful to keep those who are His until He comes.
