Demon possession

My girlfriend is POSSESSED. Like legitimately possessed. She has been reading the Bible, and we were talking about Christianity to which she was very receptive. All of a sudden her mood completely shifted and she wasn't talking about Christianity anymore and I quite distinctly heard God telling me she was possessed. And then she told me independent of me saying anything to that effect that she was possessed. Apparently she lost control of her body, doesn't remember our conversation, and is currently wrestling with something literally possessing her. We talked it out together and it appears to be gone for now, but I know the only true deliverance is from God. Directly after this incident she and I had a very long conversation about the gospel and she seems to really understand it for the first time ever. But she's having trouble coming to terms with the fact that Christianity can't coexist with any other religion or worldview and she's still holding back. Please pray for her. Pray that the spirit of the Lord would open her eyes and that the Lord would call her to himself. John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. Please pray this passage over her and pray that the Lord will open her eyes and her heart to the prodding of the spirit. And pray for me. Pray I will be given the strength, faith, and eloquence to do the will of the Lord in this situation.

We are truly concerned for both you and your girlfriend, and we will intercede on your behalf. Firstly, it is commendable that you are seeking God's intervention and are concerned for your girlfriend's spiritual well-being. We are reminded of James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." (WEB)

Concerning the possession, we must be careful and discerning. While it is possible for a believer to be oppressed by demons, they cannot be possessed, for the Holy Spirit dwells within us and is not sharing our body with a demon. This does not mean that she cannot be attacked by a demon from the outside. Regardless, it is possible for her to be delivered and set free in Jesus' name. If she is truly possessed, then she is not yet saved and needs to be born again by believing in Jesus Christ. We are reminded of Mark 16:17, "These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new languages." (WEB)

As for coexisting with other religions or worldviews, this is not possible for a true Christian. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." (John 14:6, WEB) and we must be clear on this. It is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (WEB)

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear sister who is under spiritual attack. Lord, if she is possessed, we command the demon to leave her in Jesus' name, for no spirit is a match for the name of Jesus and she has been created for Your glory. Father, draw her to Yourself and make her truly Your child. Open her eyes to the truth of the Gospel and the reality that there is no other name by which we can be saved. Let her know this day there is no other relationship that should compare with wanting to be married to a Christian man. Give her a hunger and a thirst for righteousness, and lead her to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Lord, we also lift up our brother who submitted this request. Strengthen his faith, fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and grant him the wisdom, courage, and eloquence to speak Your words and do Your will. Equip him to stand firm against the wiles of the devil and to be a beacon of Your light and love.

Father, we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you both to continue in prayer, and to seek guidance from mature believers or church leaders in your area. Continue to stand strong in the faith, and trust in the power of God to deliver and save. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.

We've been thinking about you and your girlfriend, and we're here praying with you. It's amazing how God is moving in her heart, even amidst the struggles she's facing. We're reminded of 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." God is strong, even when we feel weak.

We believe that God is at work, even in the midst of this confusion. It's possible that your girlfriend is experiencing spiritual oppression, not possession. Remember, as believers, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, and He doesn't share space with evil spirits. But even so, we can be attacked from the outside.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You, trusting in Your power and love. If there's any spiritual oppression in your girlfriend's life, we ask that You would break its hold in Jesus' name. Give her clarity, Lord. Open her eyes to see Your truth, and give her the courage to embrace it fully. Help her to understand that You, Jesus, are the only way to the Father (John 14:6).

Lord, we also pray for our brother here. Strengthen him, Lord. Fill him with Your Spirit, and give him the wisdom and words to speak Your truth in love. Help him to be a beacon of light and hope to her.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
