Deliverance

We join with you in seeking the Lord for deliverance for you and your son, and we stand together in the authority that we have in Christ Jesus.

We want to remind you that for those who are in Christ, no curse can remain or prosper against you. The enemy may try to harass and oppress, but the cross has broken his power. Scripture tells us Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us in Galatians 3:13, and that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail in Isaiah 54:17. We also take comfort that if God is for us, who can be against us in Romans 8:31, and that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us in Romans 8:37. There is no need to live in fear of curses when we are covered by the blood of Jesus, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world in 1 John 4:4. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you and your son and declare that it is broken and ended now by the power of Jesus Christ, and we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil so that he must flee in James 4:7.

We also notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently encourage you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved in Romans 10:9. It is in His name alone that deliverance and healing come.

We lift you and your son before the Father together in prayer. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You are our deliverer and our healer. We agree together that every curse, every word spoken against this family, and every work of darkness is broken and rendered powerless now by the blood of Jesus. We command every spirit of oppression to leave and we ask You to fill this home with Your peace and protection. Lord, we lift up this beloved son to You. You formed him and You know him intimately, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made in Psalm 139:14. We ask for Your help for him to lose weight safely and in a way that honors You. Help him to steward his body well, for our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and whether we eat or drink or whatever we do, to do all to the glory of God in 1 Corinthians 10:31. Grant him self-control which is a fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, give him wisdom to make healthy choices, strength for discipline, and grace to not be driven by shame or striving but by Your love. We pray for his physical health, for Your Word says Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers in 3 John 1:2. We also ask for deep inner healing from past hurts. You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. Pour Your healing oil over every memory, every wound, and every disappointment. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear in 1 John 4:18 and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:7. Restore what the enemy has stolen and make him whole in body, soul, and spirit. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in the freedom Christ has given you. Speak the Word of God aloud over your home daily, put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:11, and fill your minds with what is true and good. For your son, we encourage steady, godly habits rather than extreme measures, seeking wise counsel from medical professionals as needed, regular prayer, and trusting the Lord for strength each day. Healing from past hurts is a journey, and the Lord is patient and near to those who are brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18. As you forgive as Christ forgave you in Colossians 3:13 and bring every hurt to Him, He will continue His healing work. We are standing with you for complete deliverance, health, and restoration.

We were moved by your love for this mom and her son as you brought these needs before the Lord. Wanting freedom from anything that feels like a curse, wanting his body to be healthy, and wanting old wounds to heal are all deep and good desires, and we are standing with you in prayer.

We know it can feel heavy when you sense spiritual opposition and when past hurts still affect the present. We trust Jesus to be the one who brings true freedom and healing in His way and timing, and we will keep asking Him to cover this family with His protection and peace.

For your practical concern about weight loss, we encourage you to help his family connect with his primary care doctor or other trusted medical professional who can guide a safe, steady plan alongside prayer. That support can make sure any changes are healthy and appropriate for him.

For the hurts from the past, it can help to have a steady, mature pastor or Christian counselor to walk with him and his mom over time, someone who will listen well and pray with them without rushing the process.

Father, we lift this mother and her son to You in Jesus name. Break any hold of darkness and surround them with Your peace. Bring healing to wounded places in his heart and wisdom to those caring for his health. Lead them step by step and remind them they are not alone. Amen.

Your cry for deliverance has been heard and we bring it before the throne of grace where our God delights to show mercy.

We are reminded that the curse which rests upon sinners is no light thing, for the book of the law curses every one who continues not in all things written therein. But our hope is not in our own power to break curses, for deliverance from a cruel captivity must be worked by the hand and outstretched arm of Jehovah alone. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, and by that substitution He has borne the penalty which we could not bear. God has not only invented a way of deliverance but has found a ransom, and that ransom is the blood of His own Son. In Him alone is salvation, and in Him we pray that every chain and every word spoken against you and your son would be rendered powerless, for greater is He that is in you than any power that would seek your harm.

We pray for your son in his bodily need. We ask the Lord who formed his frame to grant him health and strength, and wisdom to steward the body which is the temple of the Holy Ghost. May the Sun of Righteousness rise upon him with healing beneath His wings, and may he be guided in safe and temperate ways to lose weight according to the health that God intends, with prudence, with discipline, and with the help of those who can counsel him wisely. We ask not for a vain outward change alone, but for a soundness that will enable him to live and to declare the works of the Lord.

We pray also for healing from past hurts. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. When Jesus heals He says, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, for pardon and healing are one in His hand. May the Lord purge every wound that has festered in the memory, blot out past sin, and make the nature other than it was before. May He cause your son to no longer say with heaviness, I have been sick, but to know that the bitterness of death is past and that all things are his in Christ.

We leave you in the hands of Him who brings forth His people with deliverance and enrichment, trusting that the clock of mercy has struck the hour of His gracious help. May you both be kept in peace within His borders and be given grace after this affliction to say, I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our only Redeemer, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we join you in bringing these needs before the Lord.

Scripture teaches that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, so that in Him we are blessed and no curse can hold power over those who belong to Him. We pray that you and your son would rest in that finished work, knowing that every accusation and every spoken curse is overcome by the blood of Jesus, and that you would walk in the freedom and blessing He has secured.

We pray for your son, that God would grant him health in body and soul. We ask the Lord to give him wisdom and strength to care for his body with self control and perseverance, to lose weight safely and in a way that honors God and sustains his health, and to find healing from past hurts. This church is a place of healing, like a surgery for the soul, where wounds received outside can be tended by the Spirit through the Word. May the Lord heal what has been wounded, bring continual recollection of His Word, fortitude, and peace, and restore what has been broken.

We ask God to help him hear the Word carefully and continually, to grow in faith and in every virtue, and to know that the Lord sees and remembers even the smallest sigh and every step taken toward Him. May He guide his steps, guard his health, and fill his heart with hope for eternal life through Jesus Christ, our only Savior, in whose name we pray.

Thank you for trusting us with this request. We are praying with you for deliverance, for health, and for healing from past hurts.

In Scripture the curses you are concerned about are described in Deuteronomy chapters 27 and 28. From Mount Ebal the curses of the covenant were pronounced upon those who disobeyed God's law, and the people were to answer Amen, acknowledging that God's judgment is right. There are many more verses describing curses than blessings, showing how seriously God views disobedience and how surely disobedience brings consequences when people turn away from His voice.

Those curses were covenant judgments upon Israel for breaking God's law. They are not spoken of as magical spells that follow a person apart from God. The good news of the gospel is that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. When you are in Jesus Christ, you are not living under that Old Covenant curse. The way to walk in freedom is to trust fully in Jesus for salvation, to confess sin, to turn from it, and to seek to hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord and keep His commandments. We are praying that any oppression or influence of evil against you and your son would be broken in the name of Jesus, and that you both would know the protection and peace of belonging to Christ and walking in obedience to Him.

We are also praying for your son's physical health and for safe weight loss. The Bible shows that Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses, as Isaiah prophesied and Matthew explains was fulfilled in His ministry of healing. Jesus healed many, and He still heals today. At the same time Scripture shows that healing is not always instant or in the same way. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and the Lord did not remove it, but gave grace to endure. Sometimes Jesus healed with a touch, sometimes with a word from a distance, and once healing came gradually. Much healing happens through the natural processes God Himself has built into our bodies. That is still divine healing, because God created those processes. For weight and health, we pray for wisdom, discipline, and help through sound medical counsel, good stewardship of the body, and steady, safe progress rather than harmful or hurried ways.

We are praying as well for healing from past hurts. Hurts from the past, especially when trust has been broken by someone close, can leave deep wounds. Words may seem smooth but the heart behind them brings pain, and that kind of hurt lingers. The Lord understands that pain and He is able to heal not only the body but the mind and emotions. When we come to Him, He forgives sin and blots out the past, bringing times of refreshing from His presence. We pray He will do that healing work in your son's heart, mending memories and scars and giving renewed hope.

Let us pray together. Father, we come in the name of Jesus Christ and ask for Your deliverance and protection over this family. We ask that every work of darkness be ended and that they would stand fully in the freedom Christ has purchased. Give wisdom and strength for healthy choices so that weight may be lost safely and health restored, and guide any doctors or counselors who help. Heal the wounds of the past, blot out what needs to be forgiven, and bring Your comfort and refreshing. Help them to hear Your voice, to obey Your word, and to rest in Your love and care. In Jesus name, Amen.
