Your request has been lifted before the Lord and we have prayed for you and your son.
We understand why language about curses can feel heavy. Scripture describes how the law set before the people both blessing and curse. In Deuteronomy the curses were read aloud for disobedience to God's law and the people were to answer amen, acknowledging that God's judgment is right. The list is long and sobering, and it goes on to say that all these curses would come upon those who did not hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord. That is the seriousness of the law.
The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us on the cross. When you have put your trust in Him, you are no longer under that curse. You are brought into the family of God not by keeping the law perfectly, but by grace through faith, and you are adopted as His child. The enemy would like you to live in fear that spoken curses still have power over you, but in Christ you can rest in His finished work. The way to walk in that freedom is not by a ritual to break curses, but by abiding in Christ, confessing sin, hearkening to His word out of love, and trusting that His blood covers you and your son completely. If there has been sin or involvement with things that dishonor God, bring it honestly to Him in confession, and He is faithful to forgive and cleanse.
We have also prayed for your son as you asked, for safe and healthy weight loss and for healing from past hurts. God cares for both body and soul, and we believe Jesus is able to bring healing that is physical as well as spiritual. Our prayer is that the Lord will give your son wisdom and strength for daily habits that honor God with his body, without shame or extreme measures, and that he will know he is deeply loved and valued by his heavenly Father. Past hurts can leave deep wounds, but the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and He can restore what has been wounded. As you both continue in the truth that Jesus is the Son of God who was given for you, you can know the Father's love and the help of His Spirit in your hearts.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring this mother and her son before You. Thank You that Christ has borne the curse for us. We ask that any fear of curses would be replaced with confidence in Your protection and blessing in Christ. Fill this home with Your peace. We ask for Your healing touch upon this son, for health in his body and for wisdom to care for his body in a safe and steady way, and for deep healing from every past hurt. Comfort him, renew his mind, and help him to see himself as You see him. Help them both to walk closely with You, hearing Your voice and following Your ways. In Jesus name, amen.
