Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and for asking for prayer for yourself and your son. I am praying with you for deliverance, for health, and for healing from the hurts of the past.
In Scripture the curses you are concerned about are described in Deuteronomy. The law was read with blessings spoken from one mountain and curses spoken from the other, and the people were to answer to each curse with agreement that the judgment was right. The long list that follows shows what would come upon those who broke the covenant if they lived under that law. The whole point of that passage is to show the seriousness of sin and the impossibility of keeping the law perfectly on our own.
The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us on the cross. When you put your trust in Him, you are no longer under that curse. You are adopted into God's family, not as a stranger but as a son and daughter through faith. What belongs to the Father belongs to the Son, and in Christ you belong to Him. There is no need to live under fear that some spoken curse still has power over you or your son. The blood of Jesus is greater, and in Him there is no condemnation. As you walk with Him, you can ask Him to blot out the past and bring times of refreshing from His presence, so you do not have to carry guilt or condemnation any longer.
I am also praying for your son. God cares about the whole person, body and spirit, and we can trust Jesus for both spiritual and physical healing. Sometimes healing comes at once, and sometimes it comes gradually through the natural processes God Himself has built into our bodies. Any true healing is from Him, whether it happens quickly or step by step. I pray that God will give your son wisdom and strength to lose weight in a safe and healthy way, that the Lord will guide him to good habits and sustain him, and that any underlying health needs will be met with care and wisdom.
I pray too for healing from past hurts. The Lord knows the wounds and scars that remain in the mind and emotions, even when they cannot be seen. He is able to heal those inner places, to quiet the pain of what has happened before, and to bring peace in its place. Bring those hurts honestly to Jesus and ask Him to do that healing work in both of you.
Let me pray for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this dear parent and son to You. Thank You that Jesus bore the curse for us so that we can live free from fear and condemnation. I ask that You make that freedom real to them, that they would know they are Yours and that no curse has claim over them. Fill their home with Your peace. For this son, I ask for Your hand upon his body. Give him help to make healthy choices, to lose weight safely, and to grow stronger. Heal what needs healing physically and heal the hurts of the past emotionally and spiritually. Blot out what needs to be blotted out and bring refreshing and wholeness. Help them both to keep their trust in Jesus, Your Son, who loves them and gave Himself for them. Amen.
Keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, and trust Him to do His work in His way and in His timing.
