We join with you in seeking the Lord for deliverance and healing for you and your son, and we bring these needs before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name.
We understand the burden you feel when you speak of curses against your family. We want to encourage you that for those who are in Christ, no curse can ultimately stand. The enemy may try to harass and oppress, but the cross has secured our victory. We cling to the truth that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us Galatians 3:13 and that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17. We do not need to live in fear of curses spoken by others, because greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. If there has been any opening given to the enemy through sin, unforgiveness, or fear, we confess it before God and turn from it, trusting in the blood of Jesus to cleanse and protect us.
We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by calling on the name of Jesus in faith, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and delivered. We pray you and your son both know Him as Lord and Savior, for that is the foundation of all true deliverance and healing.
We also lift up your son's physical and emotional needs. We pray for safe and healthy weight loss, not out of vanity but out of stewardship of the body God has given him. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We pray he will be strengthened to make wise choices in eating and activity, to honor God in all that he does, and to do so with patience and self control, seeking good medical counsel and relying on God's help rather than harmful or extreme methods.
For the past hurts he carries, we pray for deep inner healing. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We ask God to gently uncover and heal those wounds, to replace bitterness with forgiveness, shame with the assurance of being loved, and sorrow with His peace that passes understanding.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We rebuke every curse, every word spoken against this mother and her son, and every assignment of the enemy, and we declare that it is broken and ended now by the blood of Jesus. We ask You to surround this family with Your protection and fill their home with Your peace. Lord, we ask for Your deliverance to be made manifest, that they would walk in freedom and not in fear, knowing that in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us Romans 8:37. We lift up this son to You. Touch his body, guide him to lose weight safely and in a way that honors You, give him discipline, health, and strength. Touch his heart and heal him from every past hurt, every disappointment and wound, and help him to forgive as You have forgiven us. Restore his joy and draw him close to You. We ask all this according to Your will, trusting in Your goodness and mercy, in Jesus' name, amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand firm in faith, to speak Scripture over your family daily, to walk in prayer and obedience, and to trust the Lord to complete the good work He has begun in you both.
