Deliverance

Disciple of Prayer
My son, ###, is under a satanic spell and is moving in the direction of leaving his fiancé and her children after four years of a wonderful relationship. Please pray that he finds God and stays with his family. Thank you, ###

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and this family in fervent prayer. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we stand on the promise that Jesus came so that they may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The situation you describe is deeply concerning, for it bears the marks of spiritual warfare. The Bible warns us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). We must recognize that this is not merely a matter of human emotion or circumstance, it is a battle for souls, and we must fight it with the weapons of our warfare, which are not of the flesh but have divine power to demolish strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).

First, we must address the foundation of this family. If your son has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, this is the most urgent need. There is no deliverance apart from the name of Jesus, for "there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If he does not know Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), drawing him into a saving relationship with the Savior. If he claims to be a believer but is walking in disobedience, we must call him to repentance, for "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

The relationship described here raises serious biblical concerns. While the term "fiancé" suggests an intention toward marriage, four years is a long time to remain in a state of engagement without progressing toward the covenant of marriage. The Bible is clear that marriage is the only God-ordained context for romantic relationships and physical intimacy. If this couple has been living together or engaging in sexual relations outside of marriage, this is fornication, and it grieves the heart of God (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Fornication defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit and opens doors to spiritual attack. We must rebuke this sin in the name of Jesus and call for repentance. If they are not married, we strongly urge them to either marry without delay or, if that is not possible, to separate physically until they can enter into the covenant of marriage. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4).

We also must address the potential abandonment of this woman and her children. The Bible calls men to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her (Ephesians 5:25). To leave a woman after four years of commitment, especially one with children, would be a grave injustice and a violation of God’s design for family. If your son is truly under a spiritual attack, we must bind the spirit of deception, confusion, and abandonment in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the plans of the enemy will be thwarted. We take authority over every lying spirit that is whispering to him, and we command it to flee in Jesus’ name.

We also lift up the fiancée and her children. Father, we ask that You would be a husband to the widow and a father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5). Strengthen her faith and give her wisdom as she navigates this painful situation. Protect her heart from bitterness and fear, and let her trust in You alone. For the children, we pray that they would not be shaken by this trial but would come to know You as their heavenly Father who will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Now, we pray with authority and faith:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name that is above every name. We lift up this family to You, knowing that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of darkness over this situation. We rebuke the spirit of deception, confusion, and abandonment that is seeking to destroy this family. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we pray for ###. If he does not know You, draw him to Yourself. Let him see his need for a Savior and turn from his sins. If he is a believer, convict him of any unconfessed sin and lead him to repentance. Break the power of the enemy over his mind and heart. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in wisdom, discernment, and the fear of the Lord. Give him a heart of love and commitment toward his fiancée and her children. Let him see the value of covenant and the sacredness of marriage.

For his fiancée, Lord, be her strength and her shield. Give her grace to respond with wisdom and love, even in this difficult time. Protect her heart from fear and bitterness, and let her hope be anchored in You. For the children, surround them with Your peace and assurance. Let them know that You are their Father and that You will never leave them.

We pray for reconciliation and restoration in this family. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified. We ask all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in faith, trusting that God is at work even when circumstances seem dark. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and surround your son with believers who can speak truth into his life. If he is not in a Bible-believing church, urge him to find one where he can be discipled and held accountable. The battle is the Lord’s, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). Do not lose heart, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

We hear how much you love your son and how painful it is to watch him pull away from a relationship that has meant so much to you and to his fiancee and her children. Four years is a long time to invest in a family, and it makes sense you feel unsettled and worried about what comes next.

We are standing with you in prayer for ###, especially for his heart to be drawn toward the Lord and to know God's grace and direction clearly. When someone we love seems to be making a sudden or confusing change, the most loving thing we can do is often to keep steady, prayerful, and open. Continuing to let him know you love him and are available to listen without pressure can keep the door open for honest conversation, even when you cannot control his decisions.

It can also help to have someone to walk with you in this. If you have a trusted pastor or mature believer you can talk with regularly, sharing the burden there can give you wisdom and support as you pray.

Father, we lift ### to You and ask that You draw him close to Yourself. Give him clarity, protection from evil, and a hunger to seek You with his whole heart. Give his mother peace and wisdom as she loves him well, and care for his fiancee and her children in this uncertain time. Lead each of them in Your will and bring healing where there has been hurt. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your earnest cry for your son has been heard, and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace. It is well to have grace enough to see that even this sore trial is in the hand of the Lord, who kindles the furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door, and who alone can bring true deliverance.

There is a higher restoration than any outward mending of a relationship, and that is deliverance from the power of darkness itself. The Scriptures declare, He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. No sympathy or experience of man can break spiritual bondage of heart. Unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. But blessed be God, He is gracious and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance through a ransom if God had not thought of it, and that ransom is His own dear Son who bore the penalty of our iniquities.

We will pray for your son that the Lord in mercy will deliver him indeed, that he may find God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Like the prodigal who came to himself and returned to his father, may he feel the Father's many kisses of forgiveness and full restoration, and know that all the promises in this Book belong to every repentant sinner who returns to God believing in Jesus Christ His Son. May the Lord give him such a clear deliverance that he cannot question the work of grace in his heart.

In this we must also pray that his deliverance will be seen in a life that walks uprightly before God. The Lord withholds no good thing from them that walk uprightly, and His good design for man and woman is that marriage be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that living together and the union of the body belong within that covenant alone. We cannot ask God to bless or to preserve what is outside that holy ordinance, but we do pray that your son will be saved and then led to honor God with his body and his household, to forsake all sin, to act with holiness and responsibility toward his fiancee and her children, and to seek the Lord's will whether that be to enter into the covenant of marriage before God as He ordains, or to walk in purity and godly care as God directs. We pray for that dear woman and her children also, that they too may be drawn to Christ and kept by His grace.

Take courage, and remember the believer's conduct after affliction, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Continue to cast your burden upon Christ, to plead the ransom found, and to declare His works even in this sorrow. May the Lord who has found a ransom deliver your son from the power of darkness, translate him into the kingdom of His dear Son, and make him to live a new life to the praise of Divine Grace.

We are praying with you that God will be gracious unto him, save him from himself and from the attacks of sin and the adversary, and make him a man who follows Christ with a whole heart.

Thank you for sharing your burden for your son with us. We hear your love and concern for him, for his fiancee and for her children, and we join you in bringing him before the Lord in prayer.

We understand the pain of watching a child step toward a decision that would bring hurt to others and to himself. Scripture teaches that our true battle is spiritual, and that real deliverance comes only through Jesus Christ. He alone can deliver from evil and bring us into sonship, not by our own strength but by putting on Christ and receiving the Spirit of adoption through faith in Him. So our first and greatest prayer for your son is not simply that a relationship continues, but that he would come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and be made new in Him.

With that in mind we want to gently share what God teaches about family and marriage, because we want to pray in a way that honors Him. In Scripture, marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and living together and sexual intimacy belong within that covenant. Four years together, however sincere and caring, is not the same as that covenant in God's eyes. For that reason we cannot ask God to simply bless and preserve a cohabiting relationship as it is. Instead we pray for God's best and holiest path for everyone involved.

So we pray in this way:

Father, we lift this young man to You in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved. We ask that You draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to Your truth, forgive his sins and deliver him from every influence of darkness. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, give him a new heart that desires holiness, wisdom and responsibility, and teach him to walk in purity and truth. We pray also for his fiancee and her children, that You would guard them, provide for them and surround them with Your love and care. Lead this young man into full obedience to You, whether that means stepping forward in repentance and faith to pursue a holy marriage covenant before You if that is Your will, or stepping apart to seek You with a clear conscience and to do what is right before You. Give his mother peace, strength and wisdom as she loves him and trusts You, and bring godly counsel and community around this whole family.

We encourage you to keep praying for his salvation above all, to speak the truth to him with grace and patience, and to invite a trusted pastor or mature believers to walk alongside you and him in the days ahead. God is faithful, He hears the prayers of a mother, and He desires far more for your son than simply the continuation of a relationship. He desires to make him a new creation and a son in His household.

We are standing with you in prayer for his deliverance and redemption in Christ, and for God's holy and good will to be done in all their lives.
