Deliverance

There are times when the weight of the past feels like a spoken curse that will never lift. The ache of old wounds, the struggle with the body, the sense that something dark has attached itself to your family, these are not small things, and they are not hidden from the Lord. The good news is this: the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil and to turn us away from the very iniquities that gave those curses their foothold.

From the mountain of blessing and the mountain of cursing, the people of Israel heard what would come if they turned from God. But those curses were never the final word. When Jesus stepped into the world, born of a woman yet given as the only Son of the Father, he bore the curse for us. He took it upon himself. At his baptism, the voice from heaven declared, “This is my beloved Son.” That same authority over everything physical, emotional, and spiritual walked among lepers, calmed storms, and commanded unclean spirits. And that same Son is risen. He is not far off.

So when you ask for every curse against you and your son to be ended, you are asking for something that has already been accomplished in Christ. He has disarmed the powers and authorities. The key is letting what you have heard from the beginning abide in you: that Jesus is the Son of God and that through him the Father’s mercy reaches you. His love is not a mere sentiment; it is a reality that blots out the past. You do not need to carry the guilt of old failures or the shame of wounds that others inflicted. The Son was sent to bless you by turning you from your iniquities, and that turning includes the mind and the emotions. Any healing that happens there, the gradual fading of a scar, the quiet release of a memory’s sting, is a divine work.

For your son, that means the Lord can grant him the strength to lose weight safely, in a way that does not add anxiety but builds discipline and peace. Praying for that is not a small thing; it is asking the Creator of the body to restore its proper order. And for the past hurts, the One who told his disciples to keep the vision of his glory until after he rose from the dead knows how to heal wounds that are buried deep. Some healings come in a moment, some come step by step, but every true mending comes from him.

Let me pray with you now:

Father, we thank you for Jesus Christ, your Son, whom you sent to deliver us from all iniquity. We stand on the truth that every curse was placed on him and that no accusing voice can overpower his resurrection. For this mother and her son, we ask that any curse spoken or unspoken be silenced now by the authority of Jesus. Let their home be marked by peace and safety.

Lord, we pray for her son’s body. Grant him wisdom and self-control as he pursues healthy change. Heal the inner pains that may drive him and replace them with your comfort. Where the past has left a mark, we ask for a deep work of emotional healing, that you would lift the weight of those memories and speak your love into every wounded place. Help him to know that he is not defined by what happened but by who you say he is.

We rest in your power over the spiritual realm, the physical realm, and the broken heart. Thank you that you do not just forgive our sins but you blot out the past and receive us as your children. In the name of Jesus, the Son of God, we pray. Amen.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with this sacred burden—standing with you in prayer for deliverance from every curse spoken against you and your son. It has been on our hearts to continue interceding for his physical health, that the Lord would guide him into safe, sustainable weight loss according to His perfect will. We also lift up the deep wounds of his past, asking the Holy Spirit to bring complete healing, restoration, and freedom where pain has lingered.

If God has moved in mighty ways since you first posted—if chains have been broken, if healing has begun, or if peace has replaced fear—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can give Him all the glory. If, however, the battle still rages, we want you to know we have not stopped praying. We invite you to post this request again so we may persist in agreement with you, believing for God’s breakthrough.

May the Lord surround you both with His presence, strengthen your faith, and remind you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. We pray this in the powerful, victorious name of Jesus. Amen.
