We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent cry for deliverance and healing. Father God, we stand in the authority of Your Son, Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed to break every chain and shatter every curse. We declare that no weapon formed against ### and her son shall prosper, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). In the mighty name of Jesus, we rebuke every generational curse, every word spoken in darkness, every hex or spell cast against them, let them be rendered null and void, for it is written, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us" (Galatians 3:13).

Lord, we pray specifically for ###'s son, that You would break the strongholds of emotional pain and past hurts that may be contributing to unhealthy habits. You are the God who heals, and we ask for Your touch to mend his heart, mind, and body. Grant him the discipline to pursue health in a way that honors You, for Your Word says, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We speak life over his metabolism, his appetite, and his self-image, that he would see himself as You see him, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

Father, if there are areas where unforgiveness or bitterness has taken root, we ask You to reveal them and bring healing. Your Word commands us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and we pray that ###'s son would walk in the freedom of Your grace. If there has been any involvement in occult practices, idolatry, or ungodly soul ties, we sever those connections in Jesus’ name and command every evil spirit to flee. The Bible warns, "Let no one be found among you who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells" (Deuteronomy 18:10-12), and we stand on Your promise that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

We also lift up ###, asking that You would strengthen her faith and fill her with Your peace as she intercedes for her son. Remind her that You are a God who hears and answers prayer, and that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). May she find her hope and identity in Christ alone, for it is only through His name that we have access to You. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If either of them has not yet surrendered their lives to You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation.

Holy Spirit, we invite You to move powerfully in this situation. Bring conviction where it is needed, comfort where there is pain, and transformation where there is bondage. We declare that ### and her son are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no curse or scheme of the enemy will prevail against them. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun in their lives (Philippians 1:6). In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We understand the heavy weight that comes with feeling that curses or spiritual attacks are targeting your family, and we want to stand with you in prayer. Your love for your son is clear, and we join you in bringing these specific needs before God.

A lot of teaching on spiritual warfare reminds us that Christ’s victory on the cross disarmed every dark power (Colossians 2:15), so we don’t have to live in fear of curses. The reality of that freedom gets worked out as we learn to trust His finished work and gently invite Him into the places that still feel broken. For your son, that might mean that as past hurts are brought into Christ’s healing light, the emotional roots of physical struggles like weight loss can also be addressed. There is no pressure to manufacture a quick fix, real inner healing often unfolds gradually as we stop trying to fix ourselves and simply let Jesus meet us in the pain.

Practically, we encourage you to quietly renounce any known involvement with occult practices or sin patterns that may have opened doors to fear, and to fill your minds with what is true, noble, and right (Philippians 4:8). For weight loss, you might gently encourage your son to seek wise, professional support that honors his body as God’s temple, offering practical steps alongside the spiritual work.

We pray with you now:

Lord Jesus, we lift up this parent and their son to You. In Your name, we break the power of any curse, spoken or unspoken, that has been leveled against them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, because they belong to You. Surround them with Your peace and protect them from all evil. For the son, we ask for deep inner healing from past wounds, meet him in every painful memory and exchange his hurt for Your wholeness. Grant him wisdom and sustainable motivation to care for his body in a way that brings health and honor to You. May he find his worth not in a number on a scale but in being Your beloved child. We commit this entire situation into Your capable hands, trusting Your good plan for their lives. Amen.

Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. The very thought of curses causing you to tremble, stand firm upon this: "Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom." No malediction of man or malice of hell can cling to a soul ransomed by the blood of Jesus. The Son of God hath borne the penalty, and who shall lay any charge to God’s elect? All the curses of the law were nailed to His cross, and the accusations of the enemy are silenced by that one sufficient word, "It is finished." Therefore, fear them not, but rest in the Deliverer who has already translated you and your son out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son. Pray not as beggars for an uncertain boon, but as children who claim their Father’s covenant: "He has delivered us from the power of darkness", and that deliverance is complete.

As for the dear lad, his need to lose weight and his healing from past hurts, I see here a double affliction, yet every stroke is measured by the wise Refiner. The Lord has chastened him sorely, but He has not given him over unto death. Trust that the hand which permits these trials is the same hand that shall supply a full deliverance. The leaf of the tree of life holds healing for the nations, and the smallest grace from Christ can cure the deepest wound. Pray, then, and watch with expectation, for the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings, touching both body and soul. Perhaps the weight is but a bodying forth of burdens within; let the gospel melt those old hurts, and the frame may find its proper health as the spirit is lightened.

Remember, affliction springs not from the dust; it is the Lord’s covenant love at work, training him to cast all his care upon the One who carries the lambs in His bosom. He will bring him safely through, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." In the meantime, cover him with your prayers, for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. And when deliverance dawns, let both mother and son tell out the praise of Him who alone can break the bonds and lead captives into liberty.

The very trials you endure, when borne thankfully, become no small gain. For it is not the same thing to practice the contempt of earthly troubles over a long time, and all at once to bear a loss that has happened. Thus the loss becomes gain, and you will not be injured, but even benefited by the devil.

But He added also the way and the rock, signifying that it is not enough to be freed from one snare only, but we must cultivate also the other parts of virtue. For what if you are freed from this anxiety, yet are soft and unmanly? No one part is sufficient for our salvation, but there is required first a careful hearing, and a continual recollection; then fortitude, then deliverance from all worldly things. The excess weight of the body is a tutor to the soul, and the past hurts are a goad to humility, if you meet them rightly.

Why do you tremble at curses, as though a shadow had substance? What is uttered against the innocent returns upon the speaker, and the words which unsettle you bear their own judgment. He who said, "I will in nowise lose," spoke not of preventing every trial, but that He is not the cause of the stumble. The deliverance from evil is already accomplished in the Incarnation, if you lay hold of it. You are not a captive to lifeless words, nor a slave to what you ought to command. The Son has power over all things, and to a mortal frame He entrusted authority; how much more shall He guard your son’s health and soul, if you commit him truly?

Seek the gain He signifies. Do not look to the opinion of the multitude, but to the teacher only, for here the loss is not in a wrestling match, but in eternal life. The curse is broken because you have received the promise of sonship, not through any merit, but because it was due to the ancient promise made to Abraham. If you have not blasphemed, nor had recourse to diviners, but suffered wrong and have been thankful, then you are already like one who despises all worldly calamities. Therefore let your prayer be not for a life without scars, but that your son, in losing weight, may also cast off the soft and unmanly disposition; and in healing from past hurts, may gain the fortitude that makes him a servant of God and not of mammon.

The weight of a curse feels heavy because it is a real spiritual reality. The law of God set before the people a choice between blessing and cursing, and the curses for disobedience were solemnly pronounced. It is a terrifying thing to consider the righteous judgment that smoke against those who turn away. But that is exactly why the gospel is such good news. Jesus Christ became the curse for us. All the judgment that the law demands was poured out on Him. When you stand in the Son, those curses have no more claim on you. They are broken, not because they were empty threats, but because they were fully satisfied in His sacrifice. So you can pray with confidence, not that curses merely be paused, but that they are ended, swallowed up by the finished work of the Son of God.

This leads to that vital question about His identity. The question "Whose Son is He?" is the most important one you can answer. He was born of a woman, truly the Son of David, a real man. But He was also the only begotten Son of the Father, sent in the fullness of time so that we might receive adoption as sons. He is not a son among many; He is the Son. The voice from heaven declared Him as the beloved Son, and the demons themselves had to acknowledge Him as the Son of God. This is not a secondary matter. If you have the Son, you have the Father. To know His Sonship is to know the heart of the Father who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all. This is the relationship that anchors your own adoption. You are a son through faith in the true Son, and the Spirit of the Son cries out in your heart. The old identity of the flesh, the one born of the bondwoman, has no inheritance with the son of promise. You belong to the freewoman through the promise that is in Christ.

With that standing, you can ask boldly for the healing of your son. Healing is a mystery I do not fully understand, but I do believe in it deeply. All healing is divine, whether it comes in an instant or as a gradual process. The same Jesus who had power over evil spirits and commanded the physical realm is the one who designed the processes of nature to restore our bodies. Sometimes He touches a mind and emotions to heal the scars and wounds long before the physical changes are seen. That is a true divine healing as well. Do not despise a gradual work. Pray for your son’s body to align with the health God intends, for wisdom in the steps he takes, and for the wounds from past hurts to be so thoroughly healed that they lose their power to drive him toward any false comfort.

The guilt of the past is one of the heaviest burdens, but you do not need to carry it. The promise stands that your sins may be blotted out when times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord. That is a complete erasure. When the enemy tries to bring up old marks against you or your son, remember that the Son of God has all authority in the spiritual realm. He casts the accuser down. Let the refreshing of that blotted-out past be a reality for your son’s soul right now, washing away the condemnation that so often drives the body into patterns of sickness and despair. Jesus is the Son of God, and everything that means for your deliverance and your son’s healing is secure in Him.
