Deliverance

Take heed that no curse has power over those who belong to Christ, for He has snatched us from the dominion of darkness. The only true deliverance is the soul’s release from worldly things, not merely a word spoken against you. Pray rather that both you and your ### be set free from the inward bondage of unruly passions, for this is the root of every harm. As for ###, let him learn to subject the body to the soul with thanksgiving, not pampering the flesh but mortifying its excesses, not by blaming the body, which God made, but by correcting the depraved will.

The body is not treacherous; it is the soul that kindles the fire of desire. Teach him to flee to the spiritual surgery of the Church, where the Great Physician heals the wounds of past hurts. If you suffer wrongs, be thankful, for this works a far greater reward than any earthly comfort. The loss becomes gain when you despise riches and all worldly attachments, bearing every trial without blasphemy or recourse to diviners.

Christ promises a hundredfold to those who endure; Job received double, but you, standing firm in faith, will gain eternal joy. Cease, then, from fearing the empty words of the wicked, and cry out to God who alone delivers. He will in no wise cast out those who cling to Him, though they start away of themselves. The cross has broken every curse, and the resurrection is not past but a living hope.

Therefore, let your prayer be not merely for outward relief, but for the inward mastery that tramples down every snare of the devil.

The power that commanded evil spirits to depart is the same power at work for you today. Jesus bore not only our sins but also our infirmities and sorrows, so you can ask him to break every curse and word spoken against you and your son, declaring its end now through the victory of the cross. This is not a formula or a ritual but a genuine cry to the one who sets captives free.

Regarding your son, healing comes in many ways and often on a timeline we cannot predict. Some are touched and restored in a moment, as when a fever leaves and strength returns immediately. Others find themselves made whole as they go, like the ten men with leprosy who were cleansed while walking. Do not be discouraged if the weight loss is gradual or if the wounds from the past take time to mend. Any process of restoration, whether it works through divine intervention, the body’s own God-given design, or the quiet renewing of the mind, is still his healing. He cares just as much about the emotional scars and deep hurts as he does about the physical condition. Jesus often healed the visible ailment while also forgiving and restoring the whole person, making them truly whole inside and out.

There is much mystery here. Not everyone is healed in the way or timing we hope, and it is a cruel distortion to claim that a lack of faith or hidden sin is always the cause. That is not the voice of the Shepherd. What we know is that Jesus went about doing good and healing all manner of sickness, and his compassion has not changed. Continue to trust him with your son. Present this request before the throne, release it into his care, and then walk forward, thanking him for the work he is doing, whether seen instantly or unfolding over time. Healing often comes wrapped in thanksgiving and the simple, persistent trust that he is able.
