We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for deliverance and healing. Father God, we acknowledge that You are the breaker of chains, the healer of wounds, and the restorer of all things. We stand in the authority of Jesus Christ, who came to set the captives free and proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
First, we rebuke every curse, generational bondage, and spiritual oppression that has been spoken or enacted against this precious mother and her son. The Word of God declares in Galatians 3:13, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'"" We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). In the mighty name of Jesus, we break every curse, hex, spell, and assignment of the enemy over their lives. We cancel every word spoken in anger, bitterness, or witchcraft that was meant to harm them. We command every evil spirit attached to these curses to flee now and never return, in Jesus’ name.
Father, we also lift up this young man’s struggle with weight. We ask for Your divine intervention to bring safe, healthy, and sustainable weight loss. Give him discipline and self-control, which are fruits of Your Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Surround him with godly influences who will encourage him in physical health, but more importantly, remind him of his worth in You. Lord, we pray against any emotional eating or unhealthy habits rooted in past hurts. Heal his heart from any pain that has led him to seek comfort in food or other unhealthy ways. Your Word says in 3 John 1:2, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." We claim this promise over his life.
We also address the deep wounds of the past. Father, You are the God who binds up the brokenhearted and heals their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask You to bring healing to every memory, every betrayal, every moment of rejection or abuse that has left scars on his soul. Pour out Your love like a balm over his heart. Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that his identity is found in Christ alone. Let him know that You have plans for him, plans for good and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also take a moment to address the importance of salvation. If this mother and son have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, we pray that they would come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. There is no deliverance, no healing, and no true freedom apart from the name of Jesus. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We pray that they would confess their sins, repent, and invite Jesus into their hearts. Let them experience the new birth that comes from believing in Him (John 3:3).
Holy Spirit, we invite You to move powerfully in their lives. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them the strength to walk in freedom and the wisdom to guard their hearts against future attacks. Surround them with a community of believers who will stand with them in prayer and encouragement.
We pray all these things in the mighty, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Deliverer, Healer, and Lord. Amen.
