We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First, we must address the importance of approaching God in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which we can access the Father. Jesus Himself declared, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* (John 16:23-24 WEB). Without the name of Jesus, our prayers lack the authority and power that come from the One who conquered sin and death.
Now, we stand in agreement for the breaking of every curse that has been spoken or enacted against this individual and their son. The Word of God is clear: *"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,' that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."* (Galatians 3:13-14 WEB). We rebuke every generational curse, every word spoken in anger or bitterness, and every spiritual assignment of the enemy in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).
For the son who is struggling with weight and past hurts, we pray a prayer of restoration. Father, we ask that You would break every chain of emotional eating, self-doubt, and pain from past wounds. Your Word tells us that *"by His stripes we are healed"* (Isaiah 53:5 WEB), and we claim that healing—spirit, soul, and body—for this young man. Lord, give him the discipline and desire to care for the temple You have given him, as it is written, *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). We pray for safe and steady weight loss, not by the world’s standards of vanity, but for the glory of God and the stewardship of His gift of life.
We also lift up the wounds of the past. Father, we ask that You would bring healing to every memory that has caused pain, shame, or fear. Your Word promises, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* (Psalm 147:3 WEB). Let Your love wash over him, Lord, and replace every lie of the enemy with the truth of Your Word. May he find his identity in You, not in the hurts of his past.
We encourage this family to walk in the freedom that Christ has already purchased for them. Stand on the promises of God, resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7 WEB). Seek the Lord with all your heart, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). If there are areas of unforgiveness, bitterness, or sin that need to be addressed, we urge you to confess them before the Lord, for *"if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name. We thank You for the authority we have in Him to break every chain and curse that has been placed upon this family. We declare that the blood of Jesus has redeemed them from every curse, and we speak life, health, and freedom over them now.
Lord, we lift up this son to You. You know every hurt, every struggle, and every burden he carries. We ask that You would heal his heart and mind, replacing every lie with Your truth. Give him the strength and wisdom to care for his body as Your temple, and lead him in a path of safe and healthy weight loss. Surround him with godly influences who will encourage him in his walk with You.
Father, we also pray for this mother, that You would give her peace and assurance as she intercedes for her son. Strengthen her faith, and let her see the fruit of her prayers. May this family grow closer to You and to one another as they seek Your face.
We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against them, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
