We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First and foremost, we must address the foundation of our faith—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are redeemed and set free. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus, we stand on Your Word and declare that every curse, every chain, and every assignment of the enemy against these precious lives is broken now. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity, sickness, and bondage that has sought to oppress them. Your Word declares in Galatians 3:13, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'" We claim this promise over their lives today. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we pray specifically for this young man, that You would bring healing to his body. We ask that You guide him in safe and healthy weight loss, according to Your will. Give him discipline and self-control, which are fruits of Your Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Help him to honor his body as Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), nourishing it with foods that strengthen and sustain him. We rebuke any spirit of gluttony or laziness that may have taken root, and we declare that he is set free by the power of Jesus’ name.
We also lift up the deep hurts of the past that may still linger in his heart. Father, Your Word tells us in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask that You would touch every wound, every memory of pain, and every place of rejection or abandonment. Pour out Your healing balm upon him, Lord. Let him know that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Replace every lie of the enemy with Your truth—let him know that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that he is loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), and that his future is filled with hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also pray for his mother, that You would strengthen her faith and give her peace as she intercedes for her son. Let her see the fruit of her prayers and trust in Your perfect timing. Remind her that You are a God who hears and answers prayer (1 John 5:14-15).
Holy Spirit, we invite You to move powerfully in their lives. Break every generational curse, every pattern of sin, and every stronghold that has been passed down. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We speak life, health, and wholeness over them in Jesus’ name.
We also want to gently address any areas where their lives may not yet fully align with Your Word. If there are any unforgiveness, bitterness, or unrepentant sin in their hearts, we encourage them to confess it and turn away from it. Your Word says in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed." Healing begins with repentance and surrender to You.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You draw this family closer to You. Let them seek Your face daily, meditate on Your Word, and walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them. May they experience the fullness of Your love, joy, and peace as they trust in You.
We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
