We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* (John 16:23-24 WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through His blood that we are redeemed and set free from every curse.
We stand in agreement with the truth of God’s Word, which declares that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). We rebuke every curse spoken against these precious lives in the mighty name of Jesus. The enemy has no authority to bind or oppress those who are in Christ. We command every generational curse, word curse, or spiritual bondage to be broken now by the power of the cross. *"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'—so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."* (Galatians 3:13-14 WEB). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we loose them from every assignment of darkness in Jesus’ name.
For the son mentioned in this request, we pray for a supernatural work of transformation in his body, mind, and spirit. Father, we ask that You would grant him the discipline and desire to honor You with his health. Help him to lose weight safely, not out of vanity, but as a steward of the temple You have given him. *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). We pray for wisdom in his choices, strength in his weakness, and a heart that seeks You above all else.
We also lift up the deep wounds of his past. Lord, You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would bring healing to every place of pain, rejection, or trauma. Replace the lies of the enemy with Your truth. Remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), and called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that the spirit of heaviness is lifted, and the garment of praise is placed upon him (Isaiah 61:3).
Father, we ask that You would surround him with godly influences—friends, mentors, and leaders who will speak life and encouragement into his journey. Let him find his identity in Christ alone, not in the opinions of others or the pain of his past. We pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit, that he would walk in the freedom and victory that is his through the blood of Jesus.
We also take a moment to address any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness that may be hindering his breakthrough. If there is bitterness, resentment, or unrepentant sin in his life, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him gently but firmly. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* (1 John 1:9 WEB). We declare that forgiveness flows freely—both from You, Lord, and from his heart toward others.
Finally, we pray for his mother, that she would find peace and joy in the Lord as she intercedes for her son. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her see the fruit of her prayers. May she be encouraged by Your promises and walk in the assurance that You are working all things together for good.
We close this prayer with confidence, knowing that our God is faithful. We declare that every curse is broken, every weight is lifted, and every wound is healed in the name of Jesus. May these lives walk in the fullness of the freedom Christ died to give them. Amen.
