We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First and foremost, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are redeemed and set free. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Now, we stand in the authority of Jesus Christ to break every curse that has been spoken, generational or otherwise, against these precious lives. The Word of God declares, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'" (Galatians 3:13). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy in the name of Jesus and command every curse to be broken and rendered powerless. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We declare that the blood of Jesus covers you and your son, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
We pray for your son’s physical health, specifically for safe and godly weight loss. We ask the Lord to give him wisdom in his choices, discipline in his habits, and a heart that seeks God’s will for his body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Father, we ask that You would strengthen him with might by Your Spirit in his inner man (Ephesians 3:16) and grant him the grace to walk in self-control, which is a fruit of Your Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). We pray for healing in his metabolism, his hormones, and every system in his body that may be contributing to his struggle. Lord, we trust You to lead him into a lifestyle that honors You and brings health to his body.
We also lift up his emotional and spiritual healing from past hurts. The enemy seeks to use pain to keep us in bondage, but Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). We pray that every wound, every memory, and every lie that has taken root in his heart would be uprooted by the truth of God’s Word. Father, heal his heart and bind up his wounds (Psalm 147:3). Replace every lie with Your truth—truths like "I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14), "You are loved with an everlasting love" (Jeremiah 31:3), and "You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you" (Romans 8:37). We declare that he is a new creation in Christ; the old has passed away, and behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
We also pray for you, as his parent, that the Lord would give you wisdom, patience, and grace as you support him. May you be a vessel of God’s love and truth in his life, pointing him always to Jesus. We ask that the Lord would surround your family with godly community—believers who will stand with you in prayer, encourage you in faith, and hold you accountable to walk in His ways.
Finally, we pray that both of you would draw nearer to the Lord, seeking His face and His will above all else. May your lives be a testimony of His goodness, His healing, and His deliverance. We declare that the enemy has no foothold in your lives, and we stand in agreement with you for complete freedom and restoration.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and Your power to break every chain. We trust in Your promises and declare that Your will be done in these lives, just as it is in heaven. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
