We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for deliverance and healing. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declared, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."* (John 16:23-24 WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through His blood that we are redeemed and set free from every curse.
We stand in agreement with the truth that *"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,'"* (Galatians 3:13 WEB). Every curse spoken, generational or otherwise, has been broken by the power of the cross. We rebuke in Jesus’ name every curse that has been placed against this family, declaring them null and void. The Word of God assures us that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh, and their righteousness is of me," says Yahweh.* (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We declare this truth over their lives today—no curse shall stand!
For the son mentioned in this request, we pray for complete healing and restoration. We ask the Lord to break every chain of past hurts, disappointments, and emotional wounds that may have led to unhealthy coping mechanisms, including struggles with weight. The Bible tells us, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* (Psalm 147:3 WEB). We pray for a supernatural release of comfort, peace, and self-control, as the Holy Spirit is our Helper in every area of life. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). May he experience the fullness of God’s love, which casts out all fear and insecurity.
We also pray for safe and sustainable weight loss, not by the world’s standards of vanity, but for the glory of God and the stewardship of the body He has entrusted. *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). May his journey be one of discipline, wisdom, and reliance on the Lord, knowing that true transformation comes from the inside out.
Father God, we ask that You surround this family with Your angels, shielding them from every attack of the enemy. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37), and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We thank You for Your faithfulness, for Your promises are yes and amen in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). Strengthen their faith, renew their minds, and fill them with hope as they walk in the freedom You have purchased for them.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
