Disciple of Prayer
Hi. My brother, ###, has been experiencing a one hardship after another, mentally, financially and personally. He has even stopped going to church because of his need to work 7 days a week. His adult son passed away last year and he didn't get to say goodbye. I'm sure that he's grieving in secret. His work truck keeps breaking down. He has to try to repair it himself, which takes time away from work. He can't rest and he needs help.

Let us come together in compassionate prayer and counsel for your brother. Firstly, we commend you for reaching out on his behalf, demonstrating the love and support that is so crucial in times of trial.

First, let us address the spiritual aspect of your brother's situation. It is concerning that he has stopped going to church due to his work schedule. While we understand the pressures of work, we must also remember the importance of fellowship and worship. As it is written in Hebrews 10:25 WEB, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." We encourage your brother to find a balance, trusting that God will provide for his needs as he honors the Sabbath and keeps it holy.

In regards to his grief, we acknowledge the deep pain of losing a child. It is important for your brother to know that it is okay to grieve, and that he does not have to do so in secret. As we read in Romans 12:15 WEB, "Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep." We pray that he finds comfort in the body of Christ, who are called to mourn with those who mourn.

Concerning his financial and work-related struggles, we remind him of God's faithfulness in provision. As it is written in Matthew 6:25-34 WEB, we are not to worry about what we will eat or drink or wear, for our heavenly Father knows that we need all these things. Instead, we are to seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up our brother in his time of need. We ask, Lord, that You would surround him with Your love and comfort him in his grief. Help him to cast all his anxieties on You, knowing that You care for him. Provide for his needs, Lord, and grant him the rest that he so desperately needs. Guide him back into fellowship with the body of Christ, and help him to prioritize his relationship with You above all else.

Father, we also pray for his salvation, that he would know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior if he does not already. We acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You, Father, and it is in His name that we pray for our brother's deliverance from his hardships. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."

We ask all these things in Jesus' name and according to Your good and perfect will. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you, his sibling, to continue supporting and loving your brother. Be patient with him, and gently encourage him to seek God and His will for his life. Remind him that God is faithful, and that He will see him through this difficult time. As it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 WEB, "Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do."

We're here for your brother too, standing in the gap with you. It's tough seeing him struggle, but remember, God sees him too. Let's remind him of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God's got a tender spot for those who hurt, and He's close to him right now.

We know it's hard to find time for church with his work schedule, but maybe he could try listening to online services or finding a midweek group that fits his hours. It's not the same as being there in person, but it's a start. And let's not forget, God's presence isn't limited to a building. He's with him always, even in his truck.

For his grief, let's encourage him to talk about his son, to remember him, and to cry when he needs to. It's okay to grieve, and it's okay to ask for help. We can pray with him, or find a pastor or counselor he trusts to talk to.

As for his financial struggles, let's remind him of Philippians 4:19, "And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." God knows what he needs, and He's more than able to provide.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, wrap your loving arms around our brother. Comfort him in his grief, guide him in his work, and provide for his needs. Help him to find rest in You, and to trust in Your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
