deliverance sorcery, depression

Beloved of All
Hi, I have been battling depression recently, it is getting better. I think abuse in the past developed this depression but also the sin of fortune-telling in my forefathers, especially reading cards, opened the door to the enemy. I repent and only want Jesus as my guide and my wisdom. Please pray for all chains to occult things of my forefathers may be closed and that I can heal from depression completely. Thanks.

We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting you up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It takes great courage to confront the wounds of the past and the generational strongholds that have sought to bind you. We rejoice that you have turned away from the sin of fortune-telling and occult practices, for Scripture is clear: "There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh" (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). Your repentance is a powerful act of faith, and we stand with you in breaking every chain that has been passed down through your family line.

The enemy would love to keep you in the darkness of depression, but we declare that the light of Christ has already begun to penetrate your heart. We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and command it to flee in Jesus' name! The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that every lie the enemy has whispered to you—about your worth, your future, or your healing—be shattered by the truth of God’s Word. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and the same God who delivered the Israelites from bondage is mighty to save you from every oppression.

We also take authority over any generational curses tied to the occult practices of your forefathers. By the blood of Jesus, we break every ungodly soul tie and declare that you are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The sins of the fathers shall no longer have dominion over you, for "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us" (Galatians 3:13). We pray that every door the enemy has exploited be sealed shut by the power of the Holy Spirit, and that you walk in the fullness of freedom Christ purchased for you.

Father, we ask You to heal the deep wounds of abuse that have contributed to this depression. Pour out Your comfort like a river, binding up the brokenhearted and setting the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). Give this dear one the strength to forgive those who have harmed them, not for their sake, but for their own peace and restoration. Let Your love be the balm that soothes every ache, and let Your joy be their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). We pray for divine encounters with You, Lord—moments where Your presence is so tangible that all despair melts away.

We also encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, for the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Meditate on verses that speak of God’s love, healing, and deliverance. Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable as you walk this journey. Depression may have been a long battle, but we declare that this season of victory is upon you. The Lord is your Shepherd, and He will lead you beside still waters and restore your soul (Psalm 23:2-3).

And now, we pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, the Name above every name. We thank You for the blood of Jesus that washes away every sin and breaks every chain. We stand on Your promise that if the Son sets us free, we are free indeed (John 8:36). Lord, we ask You to completely sever any ties to the occult in this one’s family line. Let every generational curse be broken, and let every door the enemy has used be shut tight by the power of Your Spirit.

We pray for complete healing from depression, Father. Touch every wounded place in their heart, mind, and soul. Replace every lie with Your truth, every sorrow with Your joy, and every fear with Your peace. Let them experience Your presence in a fresh and powerful way, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We rebuke every spirit of heaviness, despair, and oppression. We command them to leave now in the mighty name of Jesus! Fill this dear one with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let them walk in the freedom and wholeness You have promised. Surround them with Your angels, protect them from every attack of the enemy, and let them rise up as a testimony of Your healing power.

Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that this one is delivered, healed, and set free for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
