We join with you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ and we thank you for bringing this burden to Him with a heart that seeks both protection and the salvation of your neighbor.
We hear your cry for deliverance from slander, hatred, envy and the spiritual heaviness that comes from living next to one who is walking in sexual immorality. The Word tells us that prostitution is fornication, which is sin before God and outside His design for marriage between a man and a woman, and that hatred and slander are also sin that needs repentance. We commend you for saying you hold no hatred, no resentment and no anger toward her, for that honors the Lord, and we stand with you to guard your heart from bitterness.
We agree with you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn, for this is the heritage of the servants of Yahweh as it is written in Isaiah 54:17. We also cling to the promise that if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed in John 8:36, and that the Lord will deliver us from every evil work and will preserve us for His heavenly Kingdom in 2 Timothy 4:18.
We are called to love our enemies and to pray for those who mistreat us. Jesus said in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We also remember what is written in 1 John 4:20, If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen. So we pray for her conviction not out of vengeance, for vengeance belongs to the Lord as it says in Romans 12:19, Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, but out of a desire for her repentance and salvation.
We also hear your desire to be set free from corrupt company, and the Word warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, Do not be deceived, Evil companionships corrupt good morals. It is wise and biblical to keep a clear boundary and not to enter into fellowship with works of darkness while still praying for her soul. Jesus also invites us to find rest in Him when the oppression feels heavy, for He said in Matthew 11:30, For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light, and what you are feeling is not from Him, and He is able to lift it.
We pray together now.
Lord Jesus, we praise You and we thank You and we glorify Your holy name. We bring our sister before Your throne and we ask for Your protection over her mind, her heart and her home. Cover her with Your blood and let no slander, no curse, no envy and no bitterness take root in her. We ask that You convict the woman next door of sin, of the fornication and the hatred and the slander, that she may see her need for a Savior and repent and turn to You for forgiveness and new life. Save her, Lord Jesus, wash her and make her whole. At the same time we ask that You deliver our sister completely from this oppression and from every evil work directed against her. Lift this spiritual heaviness from her and let her walk in the freedom that only the Son can give. Rescue her from the schemes of the enemy and let Your peace guard her heart. Help her to overcome evil with good as it says in Romans 12:21, Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good, and to keep her heart free from anger while trusting You as her Defender and Judge. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue in prayer for this woman's salvation while keeping a godly distance and not engaging in conversation or conflict beyond what is necessary. Keep your eyes on Jesus, remain in His Word daily, and trust that He sees all and will act in His perfect timing. If harassment continues, seek wise and godly counsel and appropriate help to maintain peace and safety, and continue to cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.
