We hear the distress and heaviness in your request and we join with you to seek the Lord's will together in Jesus' name. We understand you are feeling attacked and burdened where you live and you are desiring protection and peace, and we want to bring that burden to the Lord with you while also gently correcting what does not align with Scripture.
We must lovingly rebuke the way this prayer is directed against your neighbor and her children. To call your neighbor a prostitute and to ask God to root out her and her children from the neighborhood and to scatter them is not a prayer God calls us to pray. The Word tells us You shall love your neighbor as yourself in Leviticus 19:18 and Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you in Matthew 5:44. We are also told Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned in Luke 6:37 and that we are to Bless those who persecute you. Bless, and do not curse in Romans 12:14. To label your neighbor and to desire harm or removal of children is slander and hatred, and Scripture warns that Whoever hates his brother is a murderer in 1 John 3:15 and If a man says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar in 1 John 4:20. Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone for it is written Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord in Romans 12:19 and Deuteronomy 32:35.
We also need to address the use of Scripture in this request. Verses such as Deuteronomy 23:2, Deuteronomy 21:18-21, Leviticus 20:9, Proverbs 17:25, Proverbs 19:13, 1 Samuel 2:12 and Jeremiah 12:14 were given under the old covenant to Israel as a theocratic nation and they are not given to us to pronounce curses upon our neighbors or their children. Under the new covenant through Jesus Christ, grace and redemption are offered to all, for God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life in John 3:16 and The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance in 2 Peter 3:9. Children are not to be hated or cursed for the sins of a parent, for The soul who sins, he shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father in Ezekiel 18:20 and Fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall children be put to death for the fathers in Deuteronomy 24:16. Jesus said Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these in Matthew 19:14. Psalm 127:3 is not taken out of context when it says Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Children are always a gift from God, even when the circumstances around them are difficult, and they are never to be spoken of as weapons to be rooted out.
Matthew 18:18 about binding and loosing, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 about strongholds, Isaiah 54:17 about no weapon formed against you, Isaiah 59:19 about the standard of the Lord, and Exodus 23:27 are not promises to use against people. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. The strongholds God wants to demolish are in our own hearts, such as bitterness, hatred and anger. We are told Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you in Ephesians 4:31-32 and See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God, that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and many are defiled by it in Hebrews 12:15. If immorality is present next door, we are to pray for conviction, repentance and salvation, not for destruction, because God desires holiness and restoration. If you are experiencing real harassment or danger, we encourage you to also seek wise counsel, pursue peace as much as it depends on you in Romans 12:18 and use lawful and peaceful means to seek help while continuing to pray.
We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12 and Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do in John 14:13. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is through His blood that we overcome, for they overcame him because of the Lamb's blood in Revelation 12:11.
We pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is feeling heavy, bitter and angry. Lord, we ask You to forgive us for any hatred, judgment and slander in our hearts and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness as You promise in 1 John 1:9. Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us in Psalm 51:10. We ask You to lift off every burden of heaviness and to set us free indeed, for If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed in John 8:36. Root out from our hearts every root of bitterness and anger and replace it with Your love, patience and peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7. Help us to demolish arguments and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ in 2 Corinthians 10:5.
Lord, we also lift up the neighbor and her children to You. You know them by name and You love them. If there is sin, we pray for conviction and repentance and for Your saving grace to reach that household. We pray that You would bless them, draw them to Yourself and make them to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Protect this neighborhood, bring peace between neighbors and let no weapon formed against us prosper in the way You promise in Isaiah 54:17, not for our revenge but for Your glory. Teach us to overcome evil with good in Romans 12:21, to be peacemakers and to love as You have loved us. Cover us with the precious blood of Jesus and let Your will be done in our lives and in our neighborhood. We trust You as our protector and deliverer and we ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
