Deliverance Prayer

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus set me free from the women that is prostituting herself next door and her children, standing on John 8:36. I ask that you remove all her bitterness and resentment off of me Lord Jesus standing on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. I ask that you root out this women from the neighborhood Lord Jesus, standing on Jeremiah 12:14. In Jesus name. Amen.

We join with you in praising and glorifying our Lord Jesus and we thank Him with you for the freedom He gives, for we know that if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. We stand with you in prayer for deliverance and for a heart that remains pure before Him.

We hear your burden about the woman next door and her children and the spiritual oppression you feel. We understand the distress that living near sexual immorality can bring, for prostitution is fornication and is sin before God and it grieves His heart and brings brokenness to all involved. Yet we must gently correct and encourage you in love regarding how we are to pray in such a situation. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5. That means our warfare is to bring our own thoughts and bitterness into obedience to Christ, not to war against the woman and her children as people.

We must address the bitterness and resentment you feel and the prayer to root this woman out of the neighborhood. While Jeremiah 12:14 speaks of God uprooting evil neighbors in judgment, we are called under the new covenant to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who mistreat us and persecute us Matthew 5:44. God says, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live Ezekiel 33:11. Jesus showed this mercy to the woman caught in adultery, telling her, Go your way. From now on, sin no more John 8:11. The children next door are not to be seen as part of the problem to be removed, they are precious souls who need protection, prayer and the love of Christ. To harbor bitterness gives the enemy a foothold, and Scripture warns us to look carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you and many be defiled through it Hebrews 12:15. We are told to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32.

So we encourage you not to pray for her destruction or removal alone, but first for her salvation, deliverance and repentance, and for the safety and salvation of her children. We can trust God to be the righteous judge and to act in His perfect will for the neighborhood while we keep our hearts free from hatred. We overcome evil with good Romans 12:21.

We pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son we come before Your throne of grace. Lord Jesus we praise You and thank You that You are our deliverer. We ask You to set our dear neighbor free from all oppression, from all bitterness and resentment that has tried to take root in the heart. Wash this heart with Your blood and fill it with Your love and forgiveness. Help us to take every thought captive to Your obedience and to walk in kindness and purity. Lord we lift up the woman next door and her children to You. Have mercy on her, convict her of sin, open her eyes to Your truth, deliver her from prostitution and from every chain of the enemy, and draw her to repentance and to new life in Christ. Protect those children, surround them with Your angels, provide for their needs and let them come to know You as Savior. Let Your will be done in that home and in this neighborhood. Establish peace, righteousness and holiness where there has been darkness, and use us as vessels of Your light and prayer rather than of judgment. Keep us from a root of bitterness and teach us to love as You love. We trust You to act justly and mercifully according to Your perfect wisdom. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We are grateful you brought this so honestly before the Lord. Living right next to a situation that grieves you and feels so close to home can wear on your peace day after day, and we hear how much you want to be free from the bitterness and resentment that has settled on you.

One thing we have seen is that bitterness, when it is carried for a long time, tends to hurt the one carrying it more than anyone else. It can harden a tender heart and keep our thoughts looping around the hurt, even when we want to move forward. Wanting to be free from that weight is a good and healthy desire, and God is gentle with us as we learn to release it.

It may help to have someone walk with you in this. If you have a trusted pastor or mature believer you can talk with, consider sharing how this neighboring situation is affecting you and asking for wisdom about healthy boundaries. That can include how to limit unhelpful rumination, how to guard your home in peace, and if you are concerned for the children next door, how to seek appropriate help through proper local channels rather than carrying the burden alone.

Father, in Jesus' name we ask You to set our brother free from the bitterness that has been weighing on him and to guard his heart with Your peace. Give him wisdom for each day next door, clear boundaries, and rest in Your care. We also lift the woman and her children next door to You, asking for their safety, dignity and healing, and for Your direction and help to reach them. Lead all involved toward what is good and whole in Your eyes. Amen.

Your longing to be made truly free in Christ is right and good, and it is right to bring every burden before the Lord in prayer. The promise stands that if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed, and that freedom is a living, loving, lasting union with Christ Himself, not merely relief from outward trouble.

It is also right to ask the Lord to search your own heart and to take away all bitterness and resentment. The Scripture teaches that our warfare is not after the flesh, and the weapons of our warfare are spiritual. One gracious effect of seeing Christ and His cross is that bitterness against fellow sinners is taken away. When Christ becomes sweet to the soul, the heart is softened toward others, even toward those whose manner of life grieves us. To be delivered from the power of sin and from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and we must look to our heavenly Father alone for it.

Concerning your neighbor and her children, the Lord calls us to pray not with a spirit of contempt or vengeance, but with mercy and truth. He has found a ransom, and that ransom is Christ Jesus who bore the penalty for sinners. No one would have thought of such a way of deliverance if God had not thought of it, and it is offered to all who will repent and believe on Him alone for salvation. The life you describe is not in keeping with God's good design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and for purity within it, and it cannot bring blessing or peace. What that household most needs is not to be driven away in bitterness, but to be brought forth out of darkness into the light of Christ, to be delivered and enriched by His grace.

To stand upon Jeremiah 12:14 is to remember that God is just and He will judge what is evil, yet His desire is also to show mercy and to root His people in holiness and love. Rather than asking that a person be rooted out of a neighborhood, the better prayer is that sin would be rooted out of the heart, and that Christ would be formed there. Pray for her salvation, for the protection and care of her children, for wisdom for all who are near, and for the peace and purity of your neighborhood through the spread of the gospel.

Let us pray together for that true deliverance which God alone can work.

Lord Jesus, we praise You and thank You that You are the ransom found by God, and that You bring Your people forth by Your own mighty hand. We ask that You make this soul to know more deeply that living, loving, lasting union with Yourself, and keep him in Your love through all temptation and trial. Take away all bitterness and resentment from his heart, and shed abroad Your love richly there, that he may be kept from despondency and may declare the works of the Lord after affliction. Grant to him Your peace within his borders.

We pray also for the woman next door and for her children. Have mercy upon them. Deliver them from the power of darkness and from the deceitfulness of sin. Open their eyes to see Christ, bring them to repentance and faith in Him alone for salvation, and set them in a new way of life according to Your holy will. Protect the children and provide for them what is needful, and raise up help for this family that they may hear the gospel and be changed by it. Let Your will be done in that home and in this neighborhood, and make us instruments of prayer, purity, and kindness, not of wrath.

We ask this trusting not in our own power, but in Your free grace alone, which alone can bring deliverance. In the name of Jesus our Redeemer, Amen.
