Thank you for sharing what weighs on your heart and for wanting to bring this situation to the Lord in prayer. I hear the heaviness you feel about what is happening next door, your concern for the children there, and your desire for peace in your neighborhood and for protection over your own heart.

God does care about what happens in our neighborhoods and He hears prayer for protection. It is right to be grieved over sin, because sin harms people and dishonors God. Scripture says to be angry and yet not sin, and not to let anger settle into an ongoing wrath. There is a righteous anger at evil and unrighteousness, but we are also warned not to let that anger turn into bitterness, wrath, clamor, evil speaking and malice. Those things grieve the Holy Spirit, who has sealed us, and they do not build others up.

That is why the Word urges us to put all bitterness away and to watch diligently that no root of bitterness spring up to trouble us and defile many. Bitterness is described as a gall and a bond. It may feel justified, but it only harms the one who holds it. You cannot afford to carry it. The tears and anger that come from a bitter root are not repentance and they do not bring healing. God can change a heart so that long held anger flows out and is replaced by forgiveness and peace, as He did when two estranged brothers were finally reconciled and embraced and wept together. That is the work God wants to do in us.

Scripture also calls us to love our neighbor as ourselves, and it teaches that our neighbor is the one in need right in front of us. That command fulfills our obligation to those around us. The vision of peace God gives is not of neighbors driven away in anger, but of every person living in peace and unafraid. Faith is not passive, and God does call us to act, but the action He calls for is to follow peace with all people and to speak truth with our neighbor in love, as members one of another, not to speak evil of them or to put ourselves above them.

In that light, I would encourage you to redirect your prayers in a way that aligns more fully with Scripture. Rather than asking God to rout or remove the woman next door and to use verses as formulas against her and her children, ask God to work for salvation and transformation. Prostitution is outside of God's good design for marriage and for sexual purity, which belongs within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and it brings deep brokenness. Pray that the Lord would draw this woman to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and new life, that He would deliver her from this way of living, and that He would protect and provide for her children. Pray also that God would guard your own heart from heaviness, anger and bitterness, and that He would fill you with His peace.

You mentioned binding and loosing, no weapon formed against you prospering, and being covered by the blood of Jesus. It is true that in Christ we have protection and that no weapon formed against us will finally succeed, and that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Binding and loosing in Matthew 18 is given in the context of the church seeking restoration and agreeing together in prayer according to God's will, not as a way to bind another person's emotions onto ourselves or to speak judgment on children. Bring your need for protection to the Lord humbly, ask Him to cover you and your household in Christ, and trust Him to be your defense without calling down harm on others.

So let us pray together that God would cleanse your heart of any bitterness, wrath or evil speaking, that He would keep you from grieving His Spirit, that He would give you love for your neighbor even while you grieve her sin, and that He would bring true deliverance to her and safety to her children. Ask Him to make you an instrument of peace on your street, to give you wisdom for healthy boundaries, and where children may be at risk, to give you wisdom to seek appropriate help through proper and lawful means, always with a spirit of love and not malice.

May the Lord lift this heaviness from you, guard you in His peace, and work in power to save and restore all who call upon the name of Jesus.
