We hear your heart for safety and for righteousness in your neighborhood and we join with you in seeking the Lord Jesus concerning these little boys and the concerns you have raised.
We understand your desire for deliverance and for strongholds to be torn down, and Scripture does tell us that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, and that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Yet we want to gently correct and encourage you where your prayer asks for families and little children to be rooted out and removed from the neighborhood if they are not sent by God.
While Jeremiah 12:14 does speak of the Lord plucking up evil neighbors, our calling as followers of Christ is not to pray for the removal or destruction of people made in God's image, especially little children, but to love our neighbors and to desire their salvation. Jesus said, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself Leviticus 19:18, Mark 12:31. The Lord does not desire that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. Those little boys, even if they are unsupervised and acting in ways that concern you, are precious to Jesus, for He said, Allow the little children to come to me. Do not forbid them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these Mark 10:14.
If there is sexual immorality occurring nearby, such as prostitution, the Bible is clear that we are to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and such sin does grieve the Lord. However our response is to pray for conviction, repentance, and deliverance for those involved, not to condemn them or to ask God to root them out in anger. We are to speak the truth in love and to be a light, remembering that we also were once in darkness but have been washed by the blood of the Lamb.
We also gently address the idea of transfer spirits coming to you from neighbors. We do have authority in Christ, and Jesus did say whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven Matthew 18:18, and they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony Revelation 12:11. Yet our protection is not found in formulas or in fear of spiritual contamination from others, but in abiding in Christ, submitting to God, resisting the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. We need not live in fear of what neighbors may transfer to us, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.
We encourage you to turn this burden into intercession for salvation and safety rather than removal. If the children are truly unsupervised and in danger, it is both loving and right to seek appropriate, lawful help for their protection, and to show kindness to the families if the Lord gives opportunity, that they may see Christ in you.
We pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before you in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, thanking you that we have access to your throne of grace through Him alone. We praise you and glorify you, Lord Jesus, for your mercy and your power to deliver. We lift up these little boys to you, asking that you place your hand of protection over them, keep them safe from harm and from the schemes of the enemy, and draw their hearts to you early in life. We pray for their parents and families, that you would bring conviction where there is sin, bring help where there is neglect or brokenness, and bring salvation where there is unbelief. We ask that you would work in the homes around us, and if there is sexual immorality, that you would bring repentance and cleansing through the blood of Jesus, and restore what is broken.
Lord, we ask you to dismantle any true spiritual stronghold that is influencing this neighborhood, not by our power but by your Spirit, and to fill this place with your peace and righteousness. Guard our hearts from judgment and bitterness, and teach us to love as you love, to pray for those who may trouble us, and to trust you as our protector. We cover ourselves and this prayer in the blood of Jesus, trusting not in our words but in your finished work on the cross. Help us to be faithful witnesses and good neighbors, walking in wisdom and love. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
