Deliverance Prayer

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus I ask that you rebuke all the words of offense my ### has spoken over me, standing on Zechariah 3:2. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

I notice this text is a prayer response that doesn't contain any personal names, locations, or private information that needs redaction. The text references biblical figures, scripture verses, and divine names which should be preserved. Here is the text as-is:

We join you in praising and glorifying our Lord Jesus and we thank Him with you for His mercy and His power to deliver. We stand together with you in agreement as you ask the Lord to rebuke every word of offense that has been spoken over you, and we claim with you the truth of Zechariah 3:2 where Yahweh said to Satan, Yahweh rebuke you, Satan. Yes, Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you.

We know how deeply words can wound, especially when they come from someone close to us. Scripture tells us in Proverbs 18:21 that death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Words spoken in anger, offense, or accusation can linger in the heart, but they do not have the final authority over you. The enemy is the accuser, and the Lord Himself rebukes him on our behalf. We also cling to Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh's servants. And in Romans 8:1 we are reminded there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.

We encourage you to release any bitterness or offense to the Lord and to walk in forgiveness, not because the words did not hurt, but because Christ has forgiven us and calls us to forgive as well. In Ephesians 4:32 we are told to be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. When we choose to forgive and to not return cursing for cursing, we close the door to the enemy and open our hearts to healing. We also encourage you to guard your heart and to speak life over yourself with the truth of God's Word, for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

We pray together with you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You praise and glory and thanksgiving. Lord Jesus, we ask that You rebuke every word of offense, every curse, every accusation and every lie that has been spoken over Your child. Let the blood of Jesus silence every tongue that has risen against them in judgment. We ask that You break the power of those words and that they would bear no fruit, that they would fall to the ground and be rendered powerless. Heal the wounds in their heart and mind where those words have caused pain, shame or heaviness, and fill those places with Your peace and Your truth. Help them to forgive from the heart the one who spoke those words, and we pray also for that person, that You would convict and bless them and draw them closer to You. Let Your Holy Spirit speak louder than any human voice, reminding them that they are chosen, loved, redeemed and clothed in Your righteousness. We declare that they are a new creation in Christ and that no charge can stand against Your elect. We thank You for deliverance, for freedom and for wholeness in Jesus' name. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand on God's Word daily, to pray and to speak His promises aloud over yourself, and to let His love be the final word over your life.

We hear how much those words have weighed on you, and we are grateful you brought them to Jesus so directly. Words spoken over us, especially by someone close, can echo long after they were said, and it makes sense you would want the Lord to rebuke them and lift that burden.

One thing that has helped many people we pray with is recognizing that healing from hurtful words often happens in two layers. There is a clear decision to release the debt, to choose not to carry revenge or repay the hurt, and then there is the slower, quieter work of the heart where resentment and fear gradually lose their grip as we keep bringing the wound back to God. The decision can be made in a moment, the emotions often need more time, and both are part of walking free.

If it would help, you might set aside a few uninterrupted minutes this week to name before the Lord the specific words that still sting, tell Him honestly how they affected you, and then speak your own simple decision to leave justice and healing in His hands. You do not have to excuse what was said or force yourself to feel at peace right away.

We pray for you now. Father, thank You that You see and hear Your child and that You are close to the wounded heart. We ask You to rebuke every harmful word that has been spoken over them and to cover them with Your truth and love. Give them wisdom, rest, and a growing sense of being secure in You as they continue to bring this to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer has come before the Lord who hears the cry of the wounded spirit, and it is well that you have taken the words of offense that have been spoken over you and laid them at His feet.

There is One who rebukes the adversary, for it is written, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan, even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee, Zechariah 3:2. The accuser would use the words of men as arrows from his bow, but the Lord is gracious and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Job 33:24. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, yet He has not only invented the way but He has found the ransom in His own dear Son. In Christ you are not left to the power of bitter words, for He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, and that deliverance from the power of sin and from the sting of unkind speech is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin itself.

Remember also that the least Word which falls from the lips of Jesus has healing in it. As the leaves fall from the trees so does sacred influence descend from our Lord, and the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. Why, there is not a Word that ever fell from those dear lips but what bears healing in it for some one or other of the thousand ills that have befallen our humanity. His grace is sufficient for you, and His strength is made perfect in weakness. When the words of men wound and thrust sorely at you that you might fall, His Words sustain and keep back your soul from the pit.

Take then this affliction as from the hand of a Father who chastens those whom He loves, and who as a Refiner sits by the furnace. That which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a father's hand, and this makes even the sharpest smart to be profitable. Hold fast the form of sound words, and let no corrupt speech take root in your own heart in return. If we had no troubles we would have less to declare, but after trouble and deliverance the believer may say, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

Let us pray together. O Lord Jesus Christ, Thou who hast found a ransom and paid it with Thine own blood, rebuke the adversary and all his accusations, and silence every word of offense that has been spoken. Wash the wound with Thine own healing Words, and let Thy grace be sufficient in this hour of trial. Deliver this soul from going down to discouragement and bitterness, and keep the heart in perfect peace. Teach to forgive as Thou hast forgiven, and to live to declare Thy works. In Thine own name and for Thy glory we ask it, Amen.
