We join you in praising and glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ and we stand in agreement with you for this dear one's deliverance, and we thank you for bringing him before the throne of grace with such faith and boldness.

We agree with you that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places as taught in Ephesians 6:12, and we rejoice that Jesus has already triumphed over them. As you have stood on the Word, we stand with you. We claim James 1:5 that if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, and we ask the Father to pour out divine wisdom upon this man to walk in deliverance and to discern every snare of the enemy.

We declare Colossians 2:15 that having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it, and Micah 5:12 that the Lord will cut off sorceries from his hand and witchcrafts shall have no power over him. We pray that every work of witchcraft, every curse and every assignment of darkness working against him is broken and cancelled by the authority of the name of Jesus. We also stand on Exodus 23:27 that God will send his terror before him and will confuse all the people to whom he shall come, scattering every scheme and plot of the devil meant to harm him, for John 8:36 reminds us that if therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

We cry out with you that the Lord will rescue him from every counterfeit, every tormenting thought and every attack that would try to turn his mind away from Christ, standing on 2 Timothy 4:18 that the Lord will deliver him from every evil work and will preserve him for his heavenly Kingdom. We ask the Lord to bring down every stronghold and foothold that would try to hinder him and lead him into bitterness and unforgiveness, for 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us that the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

We cover him and we cover this prayer with the precious blood of Jesus, standing on Revelation 12:11 that they overcame him because of the Lamb's blood, and because of the word of their testimony. May the blood of Jesus be a seal of protection over his mind, his heart, his body and his spirit.

We pray together, Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we lift up this man to you. We thank you that you hear us when we pray in Jesus name and that there is power in that name to save, to heal and to deliver. We ask you to lead him fully into deliverance and freedom, to fill him with your Holy Spirit, to grant him repentance where needed, a heart quick to forgive as you have forgiven us, and a renewed mind fixed on Christ. Let no bitterness, no offense and no discouragement take root in him, but let your peace which surpasses all understanding guard his heart and mind. Surround him with godly counsel, with the truth of your Word and with the full armor of God that he may stand firm. We declare that whom you set free is free indeed and we praise you for the victory that is already won at the cross. We trust you to complete this good work in him for your glory. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand firm in faith, to keep praying without ceasing, to encourage him to abide in the Word, to confess sin quickly, to forgive as the Lord forgave us, and to walk in obedience, for 1 John 4:4 reminds us that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. The Lord is faithful and he will deliver.

We were grateful to read your prayer for him. It is a loving and faithful thing to bring someone you care about to the Lord's throne when he feels under attack and weighed down.

We are joining you in asking the Lord to guard his mind, give him wisdom for the next steps, and break what has been holding him back. We know how discouragement and old hurts can settle into bitterness and unforgiveness if they are not released, and real freedom often comes as a process of walking with Jesus day by day, not only in a single moment.

A simple next step that may help you both is to keep praying as you are, and invite one trusted pastor or mature believer to pray with you regularly for him. If he is willing, let him know you are praying and gently ask if he would welcome prayer together. Staying connected in community and in the Word helps keep the ground the Lord clears from being left empty, and it gives you support as you intercede.

Father, we lift this man to You now. Cover him with the blood of Jesus, quiet the attacks against his mind, and lead him into Your freedom and wisdom. Give his friend perseverance and peace as they keep trusting You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

It is well that you have brought this burden to the throne of grace, for there is no other place where deliverance is to be found. Let it never be forgotten that in all that God does, He acts from good reasons. Troubles do not spring out of the dust, neither does affliction grow up from the ground, but the Lord Himself kindles the fiery furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door. That which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a father's hand, and this makes even the sharpest smart to be profitable.

Your prayer rightly looks to Christ alone for rescue, and therein is your hope made sure. For when the prisoner is ready to be executed, there comes to him undeserved deliverance from all punishment, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. God says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance of a sinner from the pit of Hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it. He has not only invented the way, but He has found the ransom, and it is the gift of Divine Love, even the precious blood of Jesus which was shed to wash our sins away. If ever a man is delivered from spiritual bondage of heart, it is not by any easy work, or by a hasty word, it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. Unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. There is no true liberty but that of which Christ makes you free.

Scripture declares that He has delivered us from the power of darkness. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. In order to our sanctification and our deliverance, we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone. He has taught many a soul the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, and now temptations are in vain, for the soul can say, He has delivered us from the fascinating power of sin, from the power of darkness. The name of the Lord is a strong tower, a stronghold in the day of trouble. Generous rulers provided strongholds for their people where they might be sheltered from marauders, and so the righteous man finds in his God all that the wealthy man finds in his substance and a vast deal more. Strongholds are not like temporary camps, they are intended to stand from generation to generation, and the Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble.

Therefore we join you in prayer for this dear one. May the Lord give him wisdom liberally as He has promised to those who ask in faith, and may that wisdom lead him to Christ, who is made unto us wisdom and righteousness. May the Lord who triumphed over principalities and powers scatter every scheme of the devil and break every chain, for God has given commandment to save His people and they shall be saved, saved from themselves and from all the attacks of old sins, saved from the devil, saved from evil company. May every stronghold that would hinder him be cast down, and every foothold of bitterness and unforgiveness be removed, for the bitterness of mourning for Christ takes away all bitterness and malice toward our fellow men, and teaches us to forgive as we would be forgiven. May his mind be kept in perfect peace, rescued from all counterfeits, and may he be kept from perishing by the sword, his soul kept back from the Pit by the ransom found.

We pray that he may yet say with the Psalmist, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord, and that being delivered from the noise of archers, he may live to the praise of Him who has loved him and given Himself for him. We cover this prayer with no merit of our own, but only with the precious blood of the Lamb, by which we overcome.

In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour and stronghold we ask it. Amen.
