Your prayer has been received with care and brought before the Lord with seriousness and compassion. The burden you carry for yourself and for your son, living under verbal abuse and constant tension in your own home, is great, and it is right that you have turned to Christ who is our true protector and deliverer.

We hear your concern about spiritual oppression and your desire to stand on the promises of Scripture. The Word teaches that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but that the weapons of our warfare are in God for pulling down strongholds, as you quoted from 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. In Christ we do not need to fear charms or curses, for the Lord rebukes the accuser, as in Zechariah 3:2, and we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, as in Revelation 12:11. Christ has already triumphed, and when we belong to Him no witchcraft or word spoken against us can separate us from His love or override His sovereign protection. Continue to rest in that finished work, praying not with fear but with confidence in His authority, and asking Him to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

We also hear with deep concern your fear for your son. A mother’s instinct to protect her child is given by God, and Scripture calls us to raise children in the fear of the Lord, trusting that when that fear is instilled within them, God Himself is their wall and guard far better than any human protection. Because you have described a pattern of grooming behavior, seeking time alone with your son, using gifts and food to gain access, and responding with aggressive and shaming language when you set boundaries, you must take immediate practical steps to protect your son. Love requires both prayer and action. Do not leave your son alone with your brother. Set clear and firm boundaries, and bring this matter without delay to a trusted pastor, a wise and godly counselor, and, where there is any risk to a minor, to the appropriate civil authorities who are ordained by God to protect the vulnerable. Keep a careful record of what has happened, and seek counsel from mature believers who can walk with you in person, help you evaluate your living arrangements, and support you in making a safety plan. If you ever believe your son is in immediate danger, seek help right away.

Regarding your living situation, we understand your longing for peace in your home and your prayer that your brother would be placed elsewhere. It is right to pray for deliverance from oppression and for a home marked by peace, and to pray for your brother’s repentance and that he would come to fear God. Rather than asking for harm or for a specific outcome such as a nursing home placement, we encourage you to pray for God’s wise provision, for doors to open for safe housing, for godly wisdom for all decision makers, and for your brother to come to a true knowledge of Christ and turn from any abusive ways. God does not promise simply to remove us from hardship, but He does promise to give wisdom, to set us above fear, and to work for restoration where harm has been done, as in Isaiah 61:7.

The hurtful words you have endured, being called degrading names to shame you into silence, are also a heavy weight. Scripture teaches us not to return insult for insult. When we are reviled, we are not to revile in return, but to entrust ourselves to Him who judges righteously. Your value is not determined by those words. In Christ you are clothed with dignity and loved with an everlasting love. Let those insults fall away as you renew your mind daily in what God says about you, and let your speech be marked by truth and grace even when you must speak firmly to set boundaries.

We will pray with you now.

Lord Jesus, we thank You that You are our refuge and strength. We ask for Your covering and protection over this mother and her son. Guard their hearts and minds with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Pull down every stronghold, expose what is hidden, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Give this mother wisdom, courage, and support from faithful people around her to protect her son and to make wise decisions for her household. Bring conviction and repentance where there is sin, bring healing where there has been wounding, and bring restoration in every area that has been damaged. Provide a way for peace and safety in their home according to Your will, and lead this family in the way of holiness and truth. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, Amen.

Please do not walk through this alone. Stay connected to your local church, share these concerns with a pastor you trust, and seek godly counsel and practical help for your housing and for your son’s safety. We will continue to hold you and your son before the Lord, asking for His protection, wisdom, and restoring grace.
