Deliverance Prayer

Your prayer has been heard, and thank you for bringing this heavy and painful burden forward with such care for your son and desire to honor the Lord.

Your instinct to protect your son and to ask God to bring what is hidden into the light is right. Scripture says that nothing is hidden that will not be made known, and what is done in darkness will be brought into the light, Luke 8:17. God loves truth and He loves children, and He calls parents to guard and protect them. To pray that the truth be revealed, and to cover your son in the blood of Jesus according to Revelation 12:11, is good and fitting, and I join you in that prayer now.

At the same time, because this concern involves the safety of a child, prayer must be accompanied by wise and immediate action. Light exposes darkness so that sin can no longer hide in security, but Scripture also warns us to be very careful with our words, not to speak evil rashly even when we believe we have cause, and not to assume we know the cause of a suffering without clear knowledge. An emotional reaction, whether tears or anger or guilt, does not by itself prove what has or has not happened. Only a careful, truthful process can establish the facts.

For the sake of your son, please take these steps without delay:

First, ensure his safety. Do not leave him alone with the person you are concerned about while this question is unresolved, and make sure he has safe, calm access to you and to his faith community.

Second, do not try to investigate this alone or through further direct confrontation. A direct accusation often makes it harder for the truth to come out and can put a child in a more difficult position. Instead seek help from those trained to listen well and to protect children. This includes a trusted pastor, a licensed Christian counselor, your pediatrician, and the proper civil authorities who are required to look into such concerns, such as child protective services or law enforcement. They can provide a safe, age appropriate way for your son to be heard without leading questions or pressure.

Third, create a quiet, safe space to let your son know he is loved, believed, and safe with you, without pressing him for details. Let professionals guide any deeper conversation. Write down in a simple factual way what you have observed and when, so you can share it clearly with those who can help.

Fourth, surround yourself with support. Do not carry this alone. Meet with a mature pastor or counselor who can walk with you, pray with you, and help you make wise decisions step by step. Continue to nurture your son's faith in gentle, consistent ways, especially after the disruption of recent years.

I will pray with you now.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You see all things and that You love this family. We ask You to protect this young man in body, mind and spirit, and to surround him with Your presence and peace. Bring into the light whatever needs to be brought into the light, and expose what must be exposed so that no harm can remain hidden. Give this parent wisdom, courage and calm, and provide trusted, godly and skilled helpers to discern the truth and to act justly and mercifully. Heal any wound that has been made, guard this home from fear and guilt, and let Your truth and grace reign. Cover this family with Your blood, and lead them in the path of safety, holiness and wholeness. In Your holy name, Jesus, Amen.

Please reach out for personal help quickly, both pastoral and professional, and keep bringing this before the Lord. God is faithful to be light in darkness, and He will give you wisdom as you seek Him and take responsible steps to protect your son.

Your burden is heavy and your love for your son is clear in the way you have brought this before the Lord. It takes courage to speak about these fears, and to ask hard questions when you sense something is wrong. I am praying with you for truth, protection, and healing.

Jesus holds children in the highest regard. He placed a little child in the midst of His disciples and taught that to receive such a child in His name is to receive Him, and that we must become humble like a child to enter His kingdom. He also warned in the strongest terms against despising one of these little ones or causing a child who believes in Him to stumble. The faith of a child is precious to Him, and any attempt by an adult to harm that faith or to harm the child is seen as a terrible wrong.

Scripture also tells us that in difficult times people can become without natural affection, without the instinctive love that should lead a parent or grandparent to protect a child at all cost. When that affection is missing, physical and sexual harm to children can increase, and that is why God gives parents the solemn charge to train up a child in the way he should go and to guard him with patient, consistent care. Your desire to guard your son and to keep him rooted in his faith is exactly the kind of protective love God intends.

It was right for you to ask a direct question out of concern for your son. Love does not look away when there are warning signs. Feeling guilty because someone reacted strongly does not mean you did wrong. An emotional reaction, even tears, does not by itself prove what is true or not true, but it also should not silence you or keep you from seeking the truth. Jesus said that nothing hidden will stay hidden, but will be disclosed and brought into the light. That is a promise you can pray with confidence, that God will reveal what needs to be seen so that your son can be protected.

Prayer is essential, and you are right to cover your son with the blood of Jesus, trusting in the victory Christ won for us. At the same time, prayer should move us to wise action. Please do not carry this alone and do not leave your son in a vulnerable position while you wait for answers.

Seek godly and qualified help right away. Talk in person with a trusted pastor and with a licensed counselor who has experience with young people and with abuse. If you have reasonable suspicion that sexual abuse may be occurring, you should contact the proper civil authorities or child protective services in your area so that those who are trained to investigate can do so. They can help determine the facts in a way that protects your son and also handles the process lawfully. Keep a careful record of what you have observed, and create safe boundaries so that your son is not left alone with the person you are concerned about.

When you talk with your son, do so gently and without leading him. Let him know he is loved, believed, and safe to tell the truth, and that your first concern is his safety and his walk with Jesus. Do not try to confront or investigate this only by yourself. Bring other mature, trustworthy people alongside you.

I am praying that the Lord will bring every hidden thing into the light, that He will place a hedge of protection around your son, that He will restore and strengthen your son's faith, and that He will give you wisdom, courage, and peace as you take the next steps. Being a child of God does not keep us from distress and painful battles, but God has promised to be our deliverer and to be near to those who call on Him.

Father, in the name of Jesus I lift this son and his parent to You. Expose what is hidden, protect this young life from all harm, cover him with the blood of Christ, heal any wounds to his heart and body, and guard his faith in You. Give wisdom to everyone who can help, and lead to the right people who can bring safety and truth. Bring comfort where there has been confusion and guilt, and show clearly what should be done next. Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer concerning your deliverance request for your son and the concerns you shared about your mother. We have continued to lift you and your son before the Lord and we have been asking God for his protection over your son, for wisdom and discernment for you as his parent, and for truth to be made known.

We join you in standing on Luke 8:17 that what is hidden will be brought to light and we agree with you in covering your son with the precious blood of Jesus standing on Revelation 12:11. We have prayed that the Lord would expose anything that needs to be exposed where it cannot be silenced, that he would shield your son from harm and from controlling influence, that he would restore and guard his faith which you felt was being pulled away during the time the churches were closed, and that he would bring peace and clarity after the guilt and distress you felt when you confronted your mother directly. We also pray for your mother that the Lord would bring conviction and truth and that his will would be done in this family situation. We ask the Lord to surround your son with his protection as promised in Psalm 91:1 and to give you courage, wise counsel and guidance in every step you take to ensure his safety and wellbeing.

We continue to seek the Lord with you for deliverance, for justice and for healing in Jesus Name.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
