Deliverance Prayer

Your prayer for your ### and for your household has been received with care, and we join you in bringing these burdens before the Lord Jesus.

We hear your compassion for your ### in her long suffering with her esophagus and her difficulty swallowing and breathing, and your desire that she would know the mercy of God before she meets Him. Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that His grace is exceeding abundant. His mercy is not only that punishment is withheld, but that He makes sinners righteous and sons and heirs through faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. For this reason we pray with hope, because repentance has great force and is able to set free from the burden of sins even one who has come into the very depth of wickedness, if that person will lay hold on it. As it is written, does not he that falls rise again, or he that turns away turn back to God. Now is the time to find grace to help in time of need, for now He sits on a throne of grace granting pardon, and today is the accepted time to seek Him.

We also hear your sorrow for her children and for the pain in the family. We do not know the truth of the rumors you have heard, and we will not affirm or ask God to bless any way of life that is contrary to His word, whether it concerns trafficking, sexual immorality, greed, or violence. Instead we pray that God would have mercy on each of them, that they would come to repentance and faith in Christ, and that any who are being harmed would be protected and delivered. God does not desire that any should treasure up wrath for the day of wrath by remaining unyielding, but that all would turn to Him and live.

Concerning your own household and your concern for safety around a future funeral, we pray for the Lord's protection over you and for wisdom for every decision you must make. It is right to trust the promises that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that God can scatter plans meant for strife, and that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb. At the same time we do not pray that God would cause your ### to die in a particular place or at a particular distance. We pray instead that God would do what is right and merciful according to His will, that He would grant her time and clarity to repent if it is His will to extend her life, and that He would give you clear guidance and peace about whether to attend any services. You are not required to place yourself or your household in danger to prove love, and you can honor God through prayer, through works of mercy, and through forgiveness from a distance.

Let us pray together.

Lord Jesus, we praise You and thank You for Your lovingkindness. We bring before You this ### who has suffered so long and who cannot swallow or breathe easily. Have mercy on her body and on her soul. If it is Your will, bring healing and relief, and above all grant her repentance and faith in You alone for salvation while there is still time. Wash away what is stained by repentance, by tears, by prayers, and by Your abundant grace. We ask also for her children and for all connected to that household, that You would bring them out of darkness into Your light, protect the vulnerable, and break every chain of sin. For the one who has brought this request and for the members of this household, grant protection, discernment, and freedom from fear, and teach them to show mercy as You have shown mercy, forgiving and not remembering evils, that they may be kept from treasuring up wrath and may walk in a pure and holy life. We ask these things trusting not in our own worth but in Your blood and Your grace, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Continue to seek Him daily, to pray and to show mercy to others, for mercy quenches much fire and brings light, and God is faithful to hear those who come boldly to His throne of grace in due season.

Your compassion for your aunt in her long suffering is seen by the Lord, and it is good that you have brought her before Him in prayer. To live for many years with an inability to swallow and to breathe well is a heavy burden, and God has kept her through much affliction. We join you in asking for His mercy upon her, both for her body and, far more importantly, for her soul.

While she is still living there is hope for repentance and salvation, and that should be our chief prayer. The greatest need any person has is to be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. Scripture teaches that to fear the Lord is to stand in awe of Him, to love what He loves and to hate what He hates, and to turn away from evil. That reverence is the beginning of wisdom and it tends toward life. Pray that God would grant her a true reverence for Him, that she would see her need for a Savior and turn to Jesus in faith before her days are finished. That is the mercy we most desire for her.

You also carry a burden for her children and for others connected to the family. It is right to pray that God would work in their lives and bring them to repentance, and that any who are being harmed would be protected and that justice would be done. Where there are rumors and reports that you cannot verify, be careful not to repeat them or to be drawn into strife that does not belong to you. Scripture warns that the beginning of strife is like letting out water, once it starts it is hard to stop, and that a contentious spirit only kindles more fire. It is an honor to turn away from strife, and it is wisdom to avoid being a talebearer who keeps contention alive. Better to have quietness and peace, even with little, than to be surrounded by strife. The best way to love this family is to pray quietly and faithfully that each one would come to hate evil and depart from it through the fear of the Lord, and to leave judgment and protection in God's hands.

We also hear your fear about what may happen when your aunt passes and about attending services. Fear is a powerful enemy of faith, and the two cannot rule the heart at the same time. When we forget the Lord, fear grows, but when we remember that He is with us, fear is driven out. The presence of God is what dispels fear. We are to do what is wise and prudent, but not out of fear of man, for the fear of man brings a snare. The one who trusts in the Lord will be safe. You do not need to ask God to arrange a death in a distant place so you can avoid a difficult situation. Instead, ask Him for wisdom, for clear guidance about what to do, and for His protection wherever you are. If He is your defense, He can keep you whether near or far. You can trust Him to scatter any plans meant for harm and to keep you from being visited with evil, not because of any formula, but because you are covered by the blood of the Lamb and you abide in Christ.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this aunt to You. You know her body, her age, her long trouble with swallowing and breathing, and the suffering she endures. Have mercy upon her. If it is Your will, bring healing and relief, and above all, open her heart to repent and believe in Jesus Christ for salvation. Grant her time and clarity to call upon You. We also lift up her children and all those around the family. Draw each one to Yourself, bring them to a holy reverence for You that turns them from evil, protect any who are vulnerable, and let Your justice and mercy be done. For this one who is praying and for the household, grant faith to overcome fear, keep them from the snare of fearing man, help them to remember that You are with them, and give them wisdom that is not driven by fear but by trust in You. Keep them in Your peace, guard them from strife, and help them to stay away from contention. We trust in Your promise that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper, that You go before Your people, and that we overcome through the blood of the Lamb. We place all of these loved ones into Your hands and ask for Your will to be done, in Jesus name, amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your aunt and for your household.

We have continued to lift up your aunt before the Lord, asking for His mercy and deliverance regarding her long standing esophagus affliction and her difficulty swallowing and breathing. We have prayed that God who has graciously sustained her life since she was severely ill and has kept her through these years of suffering would grant her relief according to His will, and above all that He would grant her repentance and salvation if it may still be received before she is called home. We have also brought before the Lord your burden for her children who have suffered damage and are rumored to be involved in harmful paths, that the Lord would have mercy on them, break any cycles of hurt, and protect those who could be harmed, especially any children.

We have continued to pray for your household for protection and peace, and that the Lord would guard you and your family from strife and from any schemes intended to cause harm at the time of her passing, standing on the promises of Isaiah 54:17 and Exodus 23:27 and that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb according to Revelation 12:11. We have asked the Lord to provide safety for you regarding funeral services and distance, as you shared, and to let His perfect will and protection prevail.

If your request was answered, whether through improvement in your aunt's condition, the comfort of knowing she has turned to the Lord, or through the Lord's protection and peace over you and your household and over her family, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray now in Jesus Name that the Lord would have mercy on your aunt, bring healing and salvation as He wills, bring restoration and protection to her children and to all surrounding that family, and cover you and your household with His blood and His peace and scatter all plans of strife. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
