We stand with you in this time of seeking deliverance and freedom, lifting your request before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that we are redeemed and set free. Jesus said, "Most certainly I tell you, whoever commits sin is the slave of sin. If the Son therefore makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:34-36). We declare that freedom over you today, for it is written, "He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18).
We recognize the pain and oppression you have endured, and we stand with you in agreement that the abuse you have suffered is not of God. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke every spirit of abuse, manipulation, and control that has operated in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We take authority over every principality and power that has sought to bind you, for it is written, "Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it" (Colossians 2:15).
We also address the situation with your spouse, for Scripture is clear that a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife (Genesis 2:24). This is not merely a suggestion but a divine order established by God for the protection and unity of marriage. If your spouse is refusing to leave his parents' home, it is a matter that must be brought before the Lord in prayer and addressed with godly counsel. We pray that the Lord would convict his heart and grant him the wisdom and courage to honor God’s design for marriage. "Woe to the rebellious children," says the Lord, "who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin" (Isaiah 30:1). We ask that the Lord would root out any ungodly influences or plans of the enemy that may be at work in this situation, as it is written, "This is what the Lord says: ‘As I have watched over them to pluck up, to break down, to overthrow, to destroy, and to afflict; so I will watch over them to build and to plant,’ says the Lord" (Jeremiah 31:28).
We also lift up the state of your marriage before the Lord. If there has been any unrepentant sin, such as emotional or physical abuse, we urge you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. The Lord hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), but He also hates when His children are oppressed and mistreated. You are not called to endure abuse in the name of marriage. "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9). We pray that the Lord would grant you wisdom and discernment to navigate this situation in a way that honors Him and protects your heart.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your love, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness. Lord, we lift up this sister in Christ who is seeking deliverance and freedom from oppression. We ask that You would break every chain that has bound her, every spirit of abuse, control, and manipulation that has sought to destroy her peace. We declare that she is free in Christ, and we rebuke every principality and power that has worked against her marriage and her life.
Father, we ask that You would convict the heart of her spouse. Soften his heart, Lord, and grant him the wisdom to honor Your design for marriage. Help him to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, as Your Word commands. If there is any ungodly influence or plan of the enemy at work in his life, we ask that You root it out and replace it with Your truth and Your love. Grant him a spirit of repentance and humility, Lord, that he may turn from any sin and seek Your face.
We pray for restoration in this marriage, Father, but we also pray for Your protection over this sister. If this marriage cannot be restored in a way that honors You and reflects Your love, we ask that You would grant her the strength and courage to walk in Your will. Give her wisdom, Lord, and surround her with godly counsel and support.
We cover this prayer in the precious blood of Jesus, knowing that it is by His sacrifice that we are made whole. We stand on Your promises, Lord, and we declare that no weapon formed against this sister shall prosper. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust in Your perfect plan for her life.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
