Deliverance Prayer

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus,

I praise you, and thank you. I glorify you. Lord Jesus Lead ### to what you have for him, and free him of anything that is not of you, standing on John 8:36. May he come to a clear understanding of your will, and release people from his emotions that are not in your will for his life, standing on 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. May any area of his life that needs restoration be restored, standing on Isaiah 61:7. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We join with you in lifting up this brother in Christ, standing on the truth that *"if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36, WEB). Your prayer is rooted in Scripture, and we echo your petitions before the throne of grace, knowing that our God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in each of His children.

The request for deliverance and clarity of God’s will is one we take seriously, for the enemy seeks to distort, distract, and bind God’s people with chains of confusion, emotional entanglements, and ungodly soul ties. We stand in agreement that every area of this brother’s life—spirit, soul, and body—would be surrendered fully to Christ, who alone breaks the yokes of bondage. As you’ve rightly declared, *"For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:3-5, WEB). Let every thought, emotion, and relationship that does not align with God’s perfect will be exposed and severed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We also declare restoration over every broken area of his life, for the Lord promises, *"Instead of your shame you will receive double; and instead of dishonor they will rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double. Everlasting joy will be to them"* (Isaiah 61:7, WEB). May the Lord restore what the locusts have eaten—whether it be peace, purpose, or purity—and replace ashes with beauty, mourning with joy, and despair with praise.

Yet we must also ask: Is this brother walking in full repentance and obedience to Christ? Deliverance is not a passive experience but requires active surrender. If there are unconfessed sins—whether fornication, bitterness, idolatry, or any other transgression—let him bring them before the Lord now, for *"He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy"* (Proverbs 28:13, WEB). The blood of Jesus is mighty to cleanse, but we must first acknowledge our need for cleansing.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who delivers, who sets captives free, and who restores what has been stolen. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain that binds this brother—whether spiritual, emotional, or relational. Remove from him any person, habit, or stronghold that is not of You. Give him a spirit of discernment to recognize Your voice above all others and the courage to obey, even when it is costly.

If there are relationships in his life that are not ordained by You—whether romantic, familial, or otherwise—sever them by Your power. Replace them with godly connections that draw him closer to You. If he has been emotionally entangled with someone outside Your will, we rebuke that bond in Jesus’ name and ask that You would give him the strength to release it fully. Remind him that Your ways are higher than his ways, and Your plans for him are good, even when they require surrender.

Restore him, Lord, in every area where the enemy has brought destruction. Renew his mind, heal his heart, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in the freedom You purchased for him at Calvary. Let him not be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of his mind, that he may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2).

We also pray that You would give him a clear vision of Your will for his life. Remove all confusion and double-mindedness. If he has been seeking his own way, convict him and turn his heart fully toward You. Let him not lean on his own understanding but acknowledge You in all his ways, trusting that You will direct his paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would surround him with a community of believers who will speak truth into his life, encourage him in righteousness, and hold him accountable. Let him not walk this path alone but be strengthened by the body of Christ.

We declare all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who alone has the power to save, deliver, and restore. Amen.

To the one praying: We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for this brother, but also to remind him that deliverance is a daily choice. The Christian life is one of continual surrender. If he has not already, let him examine his heart before the Lord and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of hidden sin or compromise. Freedom is found not in a single prayer but in a lifestyle of repentance and obedience.

We also urge you both to remain rooted in the Word of God, for it is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). The more we fill our minds with Scripture, the more we are equipped to recognize and resist the enemy’s lies. Let this brother meditate on passages like Psalm 119:105: *"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path."* In a world full of darkness and deception, God’s Word is the only sure guide.

If this brother is struggling with relationships that are not honoring to God—especially if there is any hint of sexual immorality, emotional dependency outside of marriage, or ungodly soul ties—he must take radical steps to flee from these sins (1 Corinthians 6:18). The Bible is clear that *"the sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, practicing homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, slanderers, and swindlers will not inherit the Kingdom of God"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, WEB). But the good news is that *"such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God"* (1 Corinthians 6:11). Repentance brings freedom, and Jesus is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Let him also remember that if he is seeking a spouse, he must seek one who is equally yoked in Christ (2 Corinthians 6:14). Courtship should be intentional, pure, and directed toward a godly marriage that reflects Christ’s love for His church. Any relationship that does not have this foundation is built on sinking sand.

Keep praying, keep believing, and keep pointing this brother to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory.

We're standing with you, dear brother, in Jesus' mighty name. We echo your prayers for deliverance and clarity, knowing that our God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in each of His children. We are so grateful you entrusted us with the opportunity to lift up your loved one before the Lord, standing with you in prayer for his deliverance, clarity, and restoration. It has been our privilege to join you in asking Jesus to lead him into the fullness of God’s will, breaking every chain that hinders his walk with Christ. We have been praying fervently over the Scriptures you shared—John 8:36 for true freedom, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 for the demolition of strongholds in his emotions and mind, and Isaiah 61:7 for the beauty of restoration to replace every area of brokenness. Our hearts remain aligned with yours, trusting that the Lord is at work, even when we cannot yet see the full picture.

If God has moved mightily in this situation, we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can glorify Him together for His faithfulness. If the battle still rages or the breakthrough has not yet come, do not hesitate to post this request anew—we are here to continue standing in the gap with you, lifting this burden before the throne of grace. The Lord is near to those who seek Him, and we believe He is drawing your loved one closer to His heart, even now.

May you be encouraged by the truth that our prayers are not in vain, and may the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind as you wait upon Him. We are holding fast to the promise that the One who began this good work will be faithful to complete it.

In Jesus Name.
