We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, standing firmly on the truth of God’s Word as we lift up this situation in prayer. First, we give thanks that this request is made in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is His blood that cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). We stand on the authority of Jesus’ name, for He has overcome the world and disarmed the powers and principalities of darkness (Colossians 2:15).
Father God, we rebuke every scheme of the enemy that seeks to ensnare this individual and their family. We declare that Satan has no authority here, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We stand on Zechariah 3:2, where You, Lord, rebuked Satan and declared, “Yahweh rebuke you, Satan! Yes, Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you!” We plead the blood of Jesus over this situation, covering every generational influence, every ungodly tie, and every spirit of bondage that seeks to hold this person captive. We cut every yoke of slavery in the name of Jesus, for it is written, “If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). We declare freedom over this individual, that they may walk in the liberty Christ has purchased for them.
Lord, we also pray for conviction to fall upon both this person and their grandmother. Your Word tells us that the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony overcome the enemy (Revelation 12:11). Let Your Holy Spirit bring repentance where sin has taken root, whether in bitterness, unforgiveness, control, or any other form of rebellion against Your will. We ask for full restoration of godly behavior and relationships, as Isaiah 61:7 declares, “Instead of your shame you will have double; and instead of dishonor, they will rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double. Everlasting joy will be to them.” Restore what has been broken, Lord, and let Your peace reign in their hearts.
We must also address the influence of generational sin and ungodly soul ties. Scripture warns us that the sins of the fathers can be visited upon the children (Exodus 20:5), but we know that in Christ, we are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17). We break every ungodly tie between this individual and their grandmother in the name of Jesus. If there has been any involvement in occult practices, idolatry, or unrepentant sin, we command those spirits to flee and declare that this person is covered by the blood of Jesus. We encourage them to renounce any ungodly alliances and to walk in the light of Christ, for “if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment for this individual. Let them seek Your face and Your will above all else. If there are areas of their life that do not align with Your Word—whether in their thoughts, actions, or relationships—we ask that You bring conviction and lead them to repentance. We declare that they are not slaves to sin but are called to live as children of God (Romans 8:14-17). Strengthen them to resist the enemy’s lies and to stand firm in their identity in Christ.
We also lift up the grandmother before You, Lord. Soften her heart to receive Your truth and Your love. If she has been a source of ungodly influence, we pray that she would come to know You as her Savior and turn from any practices or beliefs that oppose Your Word. Let her experience the freedom and joy that comes from walking with You. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust You to bring healing and reconciliation where it is Your will.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would surround this individual with godly counsel and fellowship. Let them be encouraged by the body of Christ and grow in their relationship with You. We pray that they would seek You with their whole heart and find their strength in You alone. May they walk in the fullness of the freedom Christ has given them, no longer bound by the past but pressing forward toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:14).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we declare victory over this situation. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the power of Your Word, which never returns void (Isaiah 55:11). We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in this family, and we give You all the glory, honor, and praise. Amen.
