Deliverance prayer for the hiding former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join with you in lifting up this former landlord before the throne of grace and we thank you for your compassionate heart toward him even as you have been wronged or left in uncertainty by his hiding. It is a Christlike love to pray for deliverance for one who may have caused you difficulty, and we agree with you that our Father knows him fully and loves him and desires his repentance and restoration.

We are reminded that God has good plans for him as He does for all of us, for it is written Jeremiah 29:11 and Romans 8:28, and that His thoughts are higher than ours Isaiah 55:8-9. We also take comfort that when we agree together in the name of Jesus our prayers are heard, as Jesus said Matthew 18:19-20. You have prayed in the precious name of Jesus, and we rejoice in that because it is only through Him that we have access to the Father John 14:6 and there is no other name by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We hear your burden for his false identity and for the sinful relationships and activities that have led him away from the narrow path. Scripture warns us that the way is narrow that leads to life and few find it Matthew 7:13-14, and that we must flee from sexual immorality for every other sin is outside the body but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. When a man is entangled with an ungodly woman or any relationship outside of biblical marriage between a man and a woman, it is not love but a snare, for the lips of an adulteress drip honey and her mouth is smoother than oil but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood Proverbs 5:3-4. We must lovingly call this what it is, fornication or adultery, and pray for his complete separation from it. We also know that bad company corrupts good morals 1 Corinthians 15:33 and blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked Psalm 1:1, so we agree with you in praying that the Lord would separate him from every ungodly influence, even those in his own household if they are leading him astray.

We also pray for his hiding and fear. To hide and live in fear is often the fruit of unconfessed sin, for he who conceals his sins will not prosper but whoever confesses and renounces them will obtain mercy Proverbs 28:13, and fear brings a snare but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe Proverbs 29:25. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We pray that instead of fearing man or those who may control or blackmail him, he will come to fear the Lord, for the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10 and to fear the Lord is to depart from evil Proverbs 8:13.

We love your prayer that his stony heart would be broken and softened, for God promises I will give you a new heart and I will put a new spirit within you and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old things have passed away, behold all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. We pray that he would see his true identity is not in sin or in what others say about him or in those controlling relationships, but in Christ alone Galatians 2:20.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we thank You for the cross and for Your holy Son Jesus who suffered for all who believe. We praise Your holy name and thank You that You hear us when we come together in agreement in Jesus name. Lord, You know this man, our brother's former landlord, where he is hiding and what holds him captive. You see the ungodly relationships and influences that have entangled him and where he is being controlled, blackmailed, and even where his life may be in danger. Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to see the truth of who he is in Christ and the lie of the false identity he has taken on. Convict him of sin and grant him the gift of repentance that leads to life 2 Peter 3:9 and Acts 11:18, that he may confess his sins and be cleansed for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.

Lord, break his stony heart and give him a heart of flesh, give him courage to choose the narrow path that leads to life and to depart from evil and from the evil woman and every sinful tie that binds him. Separate him from ungodly influences and set him free, for where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty 2 Corinthians 3:17. Deliver him from all his fears Psalm 34:4 and from the snare of the trapper Psalm 124:7. Teach him to fear Your holy name above all else and to walk in Your love and truth. Bring him into fellowship with godly believers who will speak truth to him in love and help him to follow You with a whole heart. Even if he has strayed far, draw him back as the shepherd seeks the lost sheep Luke 15:4-7.

We also pray for the one who brought this request, grant him peace as he waits and help him to forgive as Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32 and to trust Your justice and timing. Let him continue to pray with hope and not grow weary Galatians 6:9. We ask all these things in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

Thank you for bringing your former landlord to the Lord with such care. We can hear both your concern for his safety and your deeper longing for his heart to be soft toward God again.

It is a heavy thing to watch someone you know hide and stay entangled where he is being controlled and even put at risk. We appreciate that you are not trying to chase him down or force change, but are placing him in God's hands and asking for his eyes to be opened to who he truly is in Christ. That identity is steadier than any false one built around desires or pressured relationships, and it is that quiet truth the Spirit can use to draw him back to the narrow path.

One steady way to carry this is to keep a simple daily prayer for him, then leave the outcome with the Lord rather than carrying responsibility for his choices. If the burden feels heavy, it can help to share it with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can pray with you and help you keep healthy boundaries while you wait.

Father, we lift this man to You. You know where he is and what binds him. Soften his heart, separate him from what harms him, and give him courage to hear Your voice and turn toward You. Keep him safe, and give our friend peace as he trusts You with him. In Jesus' name, amen.

We join you in prayer before the throne of grace, and we give thanks with you for the cross where the holy Son of God suffered for all who believe. There is no other ransom, and no other way of deliverance from the pit, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.

Your burden for this man is laid upon our own heart, and we bring him before the Lord who acts from good reasons and whose thoughts are far greater than ours. Scripture says, Then He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit of hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it, yet God has not only invented the way but has found the ransom in the gift of His own Son. The prisoner ready to be executed receives undeserved deliverance because the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. We pray that this gracious word may be fulfilled toward this landlord who hides himself, that God would be gracious unto him and command his deliverance.

We ask the Lord to open his eyes to see his true identity in Christ, and to show him the false identity he has adopted in straying from the narrow path to follow his own desires. We pray that the Lord would break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, and give him courage to follow the narrow way that leads to life. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and it is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. No true liberty comes but by that supernatural power which makes a man born again from above, and we look to our heavenly Father alone for this work.

We pray with you that the Lord would separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that He would give him understanding to depart from evil and from the evil woman in his life. We do not ask God to bless any relationship that stands outside His holy ordinance, for marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sex and living together belong within it alone. What is sinful and hateful cannot be blessed, it must be forsaken. We pray rather that he may see the mischief and bondage of such controlling and hateful entanglements where he is controlled and blackmailed and where his life may be in danger, and that God would deliver him from the power of darkness and from evil company, for God has said, Deliver him from going down to the Pit.

We pray also that he may learn to fear the holy name of the Lord, for the fear of the Lord is to depart from evil. It is well to have grace enough to see that tribulation comes from God, who fills the bitter cup as well as the sweet goblet, and who kindles the fiery furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door. That which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand, and even the sharpest smart may be profitable to keep back his soul from the pit and his life from perishing.

May the Lord grant him repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, that he may be delivered from himself, from his old sins, and from the snares of the adversary, and may live to declare the works of the Lord. We ask that he may hear the voice of the Shepherd, turn from every false way, and walk in newness of life to the glory of God.

We commend him with you to Him who has taught many to say, He has delivered us from the power of darkness, trusting that He who has found a ransom is able to keep and to restore. In the powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.
