Deliverance prayer for the former ###

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the cross and for the fact that your holy Son, Jesus, suffered for all of us who believe. We praise your holy name. Lord, you know the plans you have for us, and your thoughts are far greater than ours. We come to you together in the name of Jesus, believing that you hear our prayers when we agree. Lord, you know this man who rented his flat to me, and he is also your child. Lord, help him to hear your voice concerning your holy plan for his life. Help him to see the clear, unmistakable truth about his identity in Christ. Open his eyes to the false identity he adopted when he entered into sinful relationships or activities and strayed from your narrow path and followed his own desires. Lord break his stony heart and give him courage to follow the narrow path and soften his heart for your glory. I also pray that you will separate him from ungodly influences, including those in his household, and that he will recognise the depth of your love, as well as the sinful and hateful relationships he has entered into, in which he is controlled, blackmailed, and where his life may be in danger. Give him understanding to fear your Holy name. Lord, give him understanding to depart from evil and the evil woman in his life. In Jesus' powerful name we ask these things, amen.

We join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for the cross and for His holy Son Jesus who suffered for all who believe, and we agree with you in the name of Jesus that He hears us when we come together in prayer. We are encouraged by your intercession for this man who rented his flat to you, and we lift him up with you before the Lord who knows him fully and loves him deeply.

We see your heart to see him delivered from a false identity and from sinful relationships and activities that have led him away from the narrow path. Scripture reminds us that narrow is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life and there are few who find it in Matthew 7:14, and that God's thoughts and ways are far higher than ours in Isaiah 55:8-9, yet His plans for us are for peace and not for evil to give us hope in Jeremiah 29:11. When we stray to follow our own desires we take on a false identity, but in Christ we are made new. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new in 2 Corinthians 5:17. His true identity is not found in sin or in what others say about him, but as a child of God, a chosen people in 1 Peter 2:9, created to walk in holiness.

We must speak clearly about the sinful relationships you mentioned, including the evil woman in his life. God calls us to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body in 1 Corinthians 6:18. Sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and when involving a married person it is adultery, both of which are sin before God. The Scriptures warn us about the immoral woman, for the lips of an adulteress drip honey and her mouth is smoother than oil, but in the end she is as bitter as wormwood in Proverbs 5:3-4. This is not love but a trap that leads toward death, and God calls us to depart from evil and to fear His holy name, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom in Proverbs 9:10. We also hear your burden that he is controlled, blackmailed and even in danger, and we know the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18, and He is our refuge and protection.

We also understand your prayer that his stony heart would be broken and softened. God has promised I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh in Ezekiel 36:26. That transformation comes as he submits to God, resists the devil, and the devil will flee from him in James 4:7, and as he confesses and turns from sin, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. Deliverance is not only a prayer prayed over him but a turning of his own heart in repentance and faith in Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to the Father.

We pray together for him now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we thank You for Your mercy and Your power to deliver. Lord, You know this man, You see where he lives and all the influences in his household. We ask that You open his eyes to see the clear and unmistakable truth about who he is in Christ and to see the false identity he has adopted through sin. Break his stony heart, Lord, and give him a soft heart that hears Your voice and has courage to follow the narrow path. Give him understanding to fear Your holy name and to depart from evil and from the evil woman and every ungodly relationship that controls and blackmails him and puts his life in danger. We ask that You separate him from every ungodly influence as Your word says come out from among them and be separate in 2 Corinthians 6:17, and surround him with godly counsel and a faithful community of believers who will speak truth in love. Protect him from harm, set him free from every chain of fornication, adultery, manipulation and fear, and show him the depth of Your love that casts out fear. Lead him to true repentance, to confess his sin, to turn from it, and to pursue purity and, if it is Your will, a godly marriage that honors You as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, give him strength to walk in holiness, and let him know that You have a holy plan for his life. We also pray for the one interceding, give peace, wisdom and healthy boundaries as they continue to love this man through prayer. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to intercede with love and truth, and to encourage this man, as the Lord gives opportunity, to seek the Word daily, to connect with a Bible believing church, to seek pastoral counsel and accountability, and to cut off access to those who lead him into sin. God is able to deliver and to restore, and we trust that as he submits to Christ, the Lord will make his path straight and give him a new heart for His glory.

Thank you for lifting this man to the Father with such compassion. We can hear how heavy this has been, wanting him to know he is loved by God and to be free from influences that seem to control and even endanger him.

What stood out to us is your heart for his true identity to be restored. When a person has built a sense of self around relationships or patterns that pull away from God, it can feel confusing and hard to step away. Part of healing is coming to see more clearly who he is as someone made and loved by God, and letting that become the steadier place he lives from. That kind of change is slow work that only God can do in a heart, as you have been asking Him to do.

One thing that may help you as you carry this is to keep your part simple and sustainable. Continue to bring him before the Lord as you already are, and release the outcome into God's hands rather than feeling you must persuade or rescue him yourself. If the burden grows heavy, it can help to share it quietly with a mature, trusted pastor or prayer partner who can stand with you.

Father, we bring this man before You and ask You to draw him close, soften his heart toward You, and make Your love and truth clear to him. Give him wisdom to recognize what is harming him and courage to step away from what is evil and unsafe. Keep him in Your care and guide him toward the narrow path that leads to life. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you at the throne of grace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is able to deliver from going down to the pit.

We give thanks with you for the cross, where the holy Son of God suffered as the Substitute for all who believe, bearing their sins in His own body on the tree and putting them away forever from all who will only trust Him. There is no other way of salvation, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and there is none else to whom we may look and live. It is all we have to do to look out of ourselves and away from ourselves, and look to Christ and His one great sacrifice, and in that looking we are delivered.

We join you in asking the Father to open the eyes of this man to whom you have shown kindness, that he may see his true identity in Christ and not in the false identity which sin would fasten upon him. The power of darkness is great, and Satan as prince of the power of the air holds men in chains of sinful desire and ungodly influence, yet it is written that the Father has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. He can deal in love with a soul even when the soil slips from under his feet and he is ready to dash into that bottomless pit, and rescue him to the praise of the glory of His grace. We pray that the Lord will so work.

We ask that God would grant not a superficial repentance which only affects the surface of the man and springs alone from terror, which comes up in a night and withers in a night, but that true repentance which is the fruit of divine grace and gives glory to God. True repentance and faith are inseparable companions. Repentance ejects sin as an evil tenant and faith admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart. Repentance purges the soul from dead works and faith fills it with living works. Any repentance that keeps a man from believing in Christ needs itself to be repented of, but the repentance that saves is quite consistent with faith in Christ, for Christ is exalted to give repentance and remission of sins together.

Therefore we pray that the Lord would break the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, that He would seal instruction upon this man and withdraw him from his purpose and hide pride from him, that He would teach him to fear His holy name and to depart from evil. We ask that He would in mercy separate him from ungodly influences, even those in his own household, and from every hateful and controlling entanglement where he is held and imperiled, and bring him to hate sin because it slew Christ and to love holiness because Christ loves it. God has ordained the narrow path of life, and marriage as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with all intimacy belonging within it, and in that path there is safety and joy, while outside it there is only the fascination and bondage of sin from which Christ came to loose us.

May the Lord keep this man and keep you also, as you walk by faith from the wicket gate to the celestial city with repentance as your companion all the way. May you both look unto Him and be saved, and live to declare the works of the Lord, that He has not left you to die in sin but has delivered you to live unto Him.

We commend him to the keeping of the Shepherd who still speaks His word in the church and by His Spirit lays it home to the heart. May Christ shine upon him and destroy the works of darkness with the brightness of His glory, and may he find that the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses from all sin all who truly repent and believe in Him, so that for all who truly trust Him there is no condemnation forever.

In the powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.
