We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious family and marriage to our Heavenly Father. The struggles you face are real, temptation, addiction, interference from those who seek to harm, and the weight of financial and relational strain, but we stand firm in the promise that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father and find true deliverance.

Father God, we thank You for this marriage and family, for the covenant You have established between this husband and wife. We ask for a hedge of protection to surround them, their home, and their children, seen and unseen. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of addiction that has taken hold of this husband. You word declares that no temptation has overtaken us except what is common to mankind, and You are faithful; You will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear. But when we are tempted, You will also provide a way out so that we can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray for deliverance from the grip of alcohol, Lord. Break every chain, every stronghold, and every lie that tells him he cannot overcome. Restore his mind, body, and spirit, and grant him restful sleep, healing, and the strength to make godly decisions for his life, his family, and his work. Let Your wisdom guide his steps, and let Your peace rule in his heart.

We also lift up this wife, Lord. Strengthen her in her faith, her resolve, and her love for her husband. Guard her heart from bitterness, fear, or despair, and fill her with Your joy and peace as she trusts in You. We pray for unity and godly love to be restored in this marriage. Let the two of them be one flesh, as You intended, with no division or strife between them (Mark 10:8-9). Father, expose and disgrace every household enemy, seen and unseen, that seeks to destroy this family. We declare that the plans of the enemy to kill, steal, and destroy will not prevail (John 10:10). Instead, let every evil scheme be turned around for Your glory. We specifically lift up the sister-in-law who has caused chaos and strife. Lord, we ask that You would soften her heart, bring her to repentance, and turn her from her wicked ways. If she will not repent, we ask that You would remove her influence and bind her actions from harming this family any further.

For these precious children, Lord, we ask for Your perfect health, protection, and joy. Let them grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with You and with man (Luke 2:52). Surround them with Your angels, and let them know the love and security of a home built on Your foundation. We pray for the restoration of marital joy, peace, and intimacy in this marriage. Father, heal every wound, every misunderstanding, and every breach of trust. Restore what the enemy has stolen, financially, emotionally, and spiritually, and multiply Your blessings over this family. Let Your grace and mercy overflow in their lives, and let Your angels encamp around them, guarding them from all harm and danger.

We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and ungodliness that has crept into this home. We declare that this marriage is a covenant before You, Lord, and we stand on Your word that what You have joined together, let no man, or spirit, separate (Matthew 19:6). We pray for open communication, restored intimacy, and a deep, abiding love that reflects Christ’s love for the church. Father, we ask that You would order every step of this family according to Your will. Provide for their needs, heal their bodies, and let Your peace reign in their hearts. We trust in You, Lord, for miracles, breakthroughs, and a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit over this home.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we want to encourage you with the truth that God is not blind to your struggles, nor is He deaf to your cries. He sees the tears you’ve shed, the sleepless nights, and the weight you carry. But He is also a God who heals, restores, and redeems. The enemy may have come to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). This is not the end of your story. God is working even now to turn your ashes into beauty, your mourning into joy, and your despair into hope (Isaiah 61:3).

We urge you both to draw near to God and to one another. The husband must love his wife as Christ loved the church, and the wife must respect her husband (Ephesians 5:25, 33). This is not a suggestion, it is a command, and it is the key to restoring godly order in your marriage. Seek counseling if needed, but ensure it is rooted in biblical truth. Surround yourselves with godly mentors who can speak life into your marriage and hold you accountable. The enemy thrives in secrecy and isolation, but God’s light exposes and destroys darkness. Do not be ashamed to seek help, for pride comes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18).

For the husband, we speak directly to you: your battle with alcohol is not just a physical struggle, it is a spiritual one. The Bible warns that wine is a mocker and strong drink is raging, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise (Proverbs 20:1). But there is hope in Christ. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Surrender this addiction to Him, and allow Him to break every chain. Seek accountability, and do not be afraid to take drastic measures to protect your family and your soul. Your wife and children need you, whole, healed, and present.

For the wife, we see your pain and your weariness, but we also see your strength. You are a warrior, and God has given you the power to stand firm in faith. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Guard your heart against bitterness, for it will only poison you and your marriage. Instead, choose forgiveness, even when it is hard. Choose love, even when it is not returned. Choose to speak life, even when the enemy whispers death. Your words have power, and they can either build up or tear down (Proverbs 18:21). Use them wisely.

We also want to address the interference from the sister-in-law. It is clear that her actions have caused chaos, and we must call this what it is: sin. The Bible is clear that a house divided against itself cannot stand (Mark 3:25). If she is unwilling to repent, you may need to set firm boundaries to protect your marriage and family. This is not an act of hatred, it is an act of love, both for her and for yourselves. Pray for her, but do not allow her to continue wreaking havoc in your home. God will deal with her in His way and in His time.

Finally, we want to remind you that your hope is not in your circumstances, your finances, or even your marriage, it is in Jesus Christ alone. If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your lives fully to Him. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). He is your deliverer, your healer, and your peace. Cling to Him, and He will never let you go.

We will continue to stand in the gap for you, praying for breakthrough, restoration, and God’s perfect will to be done in your lives. You are not alone, and you are not without hope. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave is at work in your life. Trust Him. Wait on Him. And watch as He turns your mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We hear the weight in your words, and we are standing with you in prayer for your husband, your marriage, and your whole family. It takes courage to lay all of this before God so honestly.

When one area feels besieged, like the alcohol struggle, it can touch everything else you named: your bond, your home, your children’s wellbeing, and your finances. We want to offer one practical thought: for alcohol dependence, it is often essential to have help both spiritually and practically. Alongside prayer, a step that many families find grounding is to connect with a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor who understands addiction recovery. Some churches also have support groups for spouses walking through this. You do not have to carry this alone, and reaching out is not a sign of weak faith, it is part of how God often provides safe, steady help.

Your plea for protection and for God to expose what is hidden is something we can lift with you. We pray with you that anything done in secret that threatens your home would be brought into the light before the One who sees all. And we ask that in that light, there would be opportunities for truth, repentance, and lasting peace, even for your sister-in-law, because God’s heart is always for turning people from destruction.

As you care for your little ones, your three-year-old and your baby, please be gentle with yourself, too. In times of heavy strain, simple moments of rest and holding onto small truths day by day can be lifelines.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, we bring this family to You. Cover this husband and wife with Your protection, and set a guard around their marriage and home. Deliver him from the grip of alcohol, bring clear-headed thinking, restful sleep, and whole-body healing. Step into their finances, their work, and every area the enemy has tried to steal and tear down. Expose harmful schemes and silence voices that sow chaos. Restore love, communication, and joy. Watch over these two little daughters in perfect health and safety. Give this wife steady courage, wise allies, and daily grace. Have Your way according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The clock of mercy strikes even now in Heaven for your household; the hour of deliverance is not far off when the eternal purpose of Jehovah has fixed it. Let your soul take hold of this: God says, "Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom." That ransom is not a bare hope, but a glorious, finished work, Christ Jesus, the propitiation for sin. You plead for your husband, that he be loosed from the chains of alcohol. Then bring him continually to the Cross in prayer, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. Left to himself, he cannot rise; he must be brought forth by a strength not his own. And what God has prom- ised, He will perform: "He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness." This deliverance came when the Lamb was slain; so it shall come for him as you trust in the all-sufficient sacrifice of Jesus.

But I hear your cry also over your marriage, your children, and the hidden enemies of your peace. It is a glorious thing to have a family well of prayer, where you may bring every neces- sity before the Lord, mentioning each child and every secret struggle. Seek the salvation and the sanctifying grace of the whole household, for the joy of a family is in proportion to the grace within it. One ungodly intruder can eat as a canker into the vitals of home peace, but God is able to expose and frustrate the work of those who plot evil. The Lord has said it: "All my enemies shall be confounded and sore vexed." Wait on Him who judges righteously; the schemes of the ungodly shall fall to the ground, and the very malice meant for your ruin shall be turned back for your good and His glory. Only let unbelief be banished from your own heart. To doubt the Lord in the dark hour is the most prolific of sins; once we distrust Him, we know not what mischief may follow. Fix your eyes on your Ransomer, not on the raging of the foe.

Your plea for restored love, communication, intimacy, and soundness of mind and body is a prayer after the divine will. Surely He who regenerated can restore; He who created can renew! Restoration is not a harder work than new creation. He restores my soul, not once only, but continually! The joy of which David sang, "Restore unto me the joy of Your salvation," is the birthright of every one that trusts. He makes even the marriage bond to be a reflection of the union between Christ and His Church: no torment, but communion, peace, and exquisite happiness. When the Lord turns a household from strife to unity, that home becomes a temple of gladness. They shall rejoice in God with all their home, not with a forced mirth that soon wearies, but with a joy unspeakable and full of glory. Lay hold of this and let not go: the Lord has found a ransom; He has delivered; He will deliver; He restores; He brings forth with joy.

Remember, the gems of our grateful history are our trials and deliverances. The day comes when you shall recount the wonders of His power, and your mouth shall be filled with songs of deliver- ance. The debts, the discords, the diseases that now menace your door shall be as the Egyptians de- stroyed in the Red Sea, gone forever, while you stand on the further shore and shout for joy. Even the attack of a sister-in-law, that household enemy, is only an occasion for the Lord to prove Himself strong on your behalf. Pray for her with fervent intercession; ask that she may be brought to repentance and salvation, and in so praying you heap coals of fire upon the head of her ungodliness. And as you wait, expect that the God of peace will bruise Satan under your feet shortly.

Therefore, let your whole trust be in Him alone. All those that put their trust in Him shall rejoice, and their joy no man taketh from them. The Lord grant you to see a whole household delivered, serving God, and rejoicing together! Wait only upon God, for your expectation is from Him. The bell of mercy shall yet ring a marriage peal over your home, for He has spoken it: “I have found a ransom.”
