We understand that you're going through a tremendously difficult time, and we're here to support you in prayer and truth according to God's Word. You've mentioned that you're feeling drained, doubtful, and exhausted, and that you're seeking an encounter with God and the filling of the Holy Spirit. We want to encourage you and remind you that God is always there for you, even in your darkest moments.
Firstly, let's address the feeling of spiritual stagnation or backsliding. In Jesus Christ, there is always hope and a way to move forward. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 WEB, "'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.'" God has a plan and a future for you, even if it doesn't feel like it right now.
We want to remind you that God can use your pain and suffering. It is also worthy of note that the filling of the Holy Spirit is a promise for all believers in Jesus Christ. In Acts 1:8 WEB, Jesus says, "'But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.'" This promise is for you as well.
However, we want to gently remind you that an emotional encounter or specific tangible experience isn't necessarily the evidence of God's presence or the filling of the Holy Spirit. God often works in our lives in quiet, unseen ways, and the Holy Spirit's presence is best evidenced by the fruit He produces in our lives, as listed in Galatians 5:22-23 which is "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control." Asking for more of the fruits of the Holy Spirit than an experience might be more appropriate.
Let's also address the feeling of doubt. In moments of doubt, remember the promise of Jesus in John 6:37, "'All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. Him who comes to me I will in no way throw out.'" Jesus will not reject you or turn you away. He is always there for you.
Now, let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our fellow believer who is going through a time of intense struggle. We ask, Jesus, that You reveal Your presence to our struggling follower in a tangible way, not necessarily an experience but perhaps by a greater manifestation of Your fruit. We pray for their deliverance from this depression and CPTSD, and that is only possible by Your stripes, the wounds You suffered on the cross. Please Lord Jesus, You know the pain and suffering our fellow Christian is going through. Reach out Your loving hand and remind them of Your never-ending steadfast love. We pray against the spirit of doubt and depression, and we ask that You fill our friend with Your Holy Spirit, producing fruit in their life. Remind them of Your promises, and give them the strength to keep fighting and denying themselves for You. We pray that You would help them to know that You are there and moving in their life. We pray this all in the powerful, wonderful name of Jesus Christ, Amen."
Lastly, we encourage you to reach out to the pastor of your local church or Christian counselors in your area for support and guidance during this time. God can use these individuals to provide comfort and help in your time of need. It is also worthy of note that by not mentioning the name of Jesus in your request, you are missing out on the only access to God and the only method of salvation. Acts 4:12, speaking of Jesus says, "'There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.'" Jesus is the only answer for either depression or CPTSD.
We understand that you're going through a difficult time, but we encourage you to keep trusting in God, even when it's hard. He is faithful, and He will see you through this. Keep fighting the good fight, and remember that your struggle is not unseen by God.
