Deliverance for son

Disciple of Prayer
My teen son ### can't seem to stay out of trouble. I have tried so many things. Counseling, youth group, praying and etc. I don't know what to do and I am so emotionally exhausted. I hardly sleep because I am just full of anxiety and miserable. Please pray for deliverance for my son and healing for my family in Jesus' name. Thank you

We hear your heart and we stand with you in this exhausting and painful season with your teen son, and we lift you and your family before the throne of grace together in Jesus name.

We know how weary you must be from trying so many good things, counseling, youth group, faithful praying, and still seeing him struggle to stay out of trouble. Please know that your labor and your prayers are not in vain. God sees your diligence and your sleepless nights and He cares deeply for both you and your son. He reminds us in Psalm 127:3 that children are a heritage of Yahweh, and in Proverbs 22:6 to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. That training is often a long road, and we are called not to grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up, Galatians 6:9.

Your anxiety and sleeplessness are heavy burdens, and the Lord invites you to lay them down. We are told in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us, and in Philippians 4:6-7 not to be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Jesus Himself says in Matthew 11:28 to come to Him, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and He will give you rest. We pray you will be able to experience that rest again, even as you continue to contend for your son, remembering Psalm 4:8 that we can lie down in peace and sleep, for Yahweh alone makes us dwell in safety, and Isaiah 41:10 to not be afraid, for He is with us, not to be dismayed, for He is our God, He will strengthen us and help us and uphold us with the right hand of His righteousness.

We also recognize that the trouble your son is facing is not merely behavioral, but spiritual. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities and powers of darkness, Ephesians 6:12, and we need God's power for deliverance. We thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that deliverance comes, as we are told in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, and in John 14:6 Jesus says He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in the means of grace you have already pursued, while also seeking wisdom for clear and loving boundaries and consistent discipline in the home, asking God for wisdom as James 1:5 promises He gives generously to all who ask. Keep your son connected to godly community and the Word, even when he resists, and guard your own heart by staying in fellowship and not isolating in your exhaustion. If you have a trusted pastor or mature believer, let them come alongside you to bear this burden with you, for we are called to bear one another's burdens, Galatians 6:2.

We join our faith with yours now and pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift this precious son to You. You know him by name and You love him more than his parents do. We ask for Your deliverance over his life, that You would break every chain of rebellion, deception, and temptation that entangles him, and set him free by the power of the blood of Jesus. Draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to see Your truth and Your love, and give him a heart that desires to follow You. We pray You would surround him with godly influences and remove harmful ones, and give his parents wisdom, strength, and discernment for every decision and conversation.

We also lift this weary mother to You, Lord. You see her anxiety, her sleepless nights, and her misery. We ask You to heal her emotionally and physically, to quiet her heart with Your perfect peace, and to restore her sleep and her joy. Heal this family, bring unity and peace into the home, and let Your presence reign there. Strengthen this parent to persevere with hope, knowing that You are working even when we cannot see it. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear how tired you are. Loving a teen who keeps getting into trouble while you have already tried counseling, youth group, prayer and so much more can leave a parent feeling helpless and exhausted, and it makes sense you are sleeping poorly and carrying constant anxiety.

You have not failed because you haven't found the fix yet. You have been faithful to seek help for your son, and now it is also important to get support for yourself. You mentioned how little sleep you are getting and how miserable you feel. Alongside prayer, we encourage you to reach out soon to your own pastor or counselor and to your doctor about your sleep and anxiety, just to have someone check in on your health and help you carry this.

It can help to have one or two trusted people who know the full story and can pray with you regularly and help you decide next steps for your son, so you are not holding it alone.

Father, we lift this mom and her son to You. You see how exhausted she is and how much she loves her boy. Give her rest, steady her thoughts, and surround her with wise and caring help. Work in her son's life for healing and turn his heart toward You. Give this family hope and peace as they trust You day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your sorrow has been heard, and your prayer for your son has been brought before the Lord with tender care. To be emotionally exhausted, full of anxiety and without sleep, is a heavy affliction indeed, and it is right that you have poured it out before Him who hears the troubled heart.

You have done well to seek help through counsel and through the fellowship of the youth group and through prayer, and yet you find yourself wearied as one who has gone rambling round and round to find peace. Hear the word of our Saviour, Let not your heart be troubled. He said also, In the world ye shall have tribulation, and it is no use to try to avoid it, yet let not your heart be troubled. All the water in the sea will not hurt your vessel as long as you keep it outside, the danger begins when it gets inside the ship. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Would that we could stay at home in our closets with our God, we should find peace much better there. Seek ye the Lord, ye tried and troubled ones, and ye shall soon find your troubles stayed, your trials sweetly alleviated.

Like the trees in winter, we may say of the praying man, when his heart is greatly troubled, his substance is in him, though he has lost his leaves. Prayer is the soul's breath and if it breathes it lives and, living it will gather strength again. Your continued praying, even in weariness, is not in vain. The Lord has chastened us sorely, but He whispers to the heart of His children and assures them in trial that they shall not be crushed.

For your son, remember that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. He alone brings forth His people, and our deliverance came when the Lamb was slain. There is a ransom found, not invented by man but provided by Divine Love. God Himself proclaims concerning him who is going down to the pit, I have found a ransom, and therefore deliverance is certain and already accomplished in Christ. What we cannot do by our own craft or care, He can do. He has delivered us, and that is our experimental hope.

Let us pray together.

O Heavenly Father, in the name of Thy dear Son Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation, we bring this mother and her son before Thy throne of grace. Thou seest her exhaustion, her sleepless nights, her anxious thoughts. Give her rest for her soul, calm her troubled heart, and let her cast all her care upon Thee, for Thou carest for her. Grant healing to this family, and knit them together in Thy peace.

And for her teen son, we ask for deliverance. Deliver him, O Lord, from the power of darkness and translate him into the kingdom of Thy dear Son. Break the snare of sin that entangles him, show him the ransom that Christ has paid, and turn his feet into the way of life. Let Thy power alone be his salvation, and let Thy grace enrich him with silver and gold of holiness. May he yet live and declare the works of the Lord.

We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and our great Deliverer. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we are praying with you in the name of Jesus Christ. We hear your exhaustion and your anxiety, how you hardly sleep and feel miserable under this burden, and we bring both you and your son before the Lord who sees and hears and is able to deliver.

Do not be troubled as though something strange is happening. The Lord told His disciples beforehand that trials would come so that when they came they would not be shaken but would trust Him. Your weariness, your sleepless nights and your many efforts through counseling, youth group and prayer are known to God, and He does not leave you alone in them.

We pray for your son, that God would deliver him from every influence that leads him into trouble, from the deceit and darkness that seeks to entangle the young, and draw him to Himself in repentance and faith. We ask that the Lord would set his feet on a straight path, give him a heart to love what is good, to listen to correction, and to walk in obedience. We pray that Christ, who alone is our salvation, would be his hope and his strength.

We also pray for you and for your whole family, that God would heal what has been strained and wounded, and give you rest. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you. We ask the Father to guard your heart and mind with His peace, to give you sleep and renewal, to lift the weight of fear and fill you with steady hope, and to remind you that even when you feel you have no strength left, He is faithful to sustain you.

Continue to bring your son before the Lord each day, to seek wise counsel and to remain faithful in prayer and in the means God has given, trusting not in your own efforts alone but in the grace and power of God to work in his life in His time. The Lord is near to those who call on Him, and He is able to do more than we ask.

Father, we lift this mother and her son to You. Bring deliverance to this young man, turn his heart toward You, protect him from harm and lead him away from what harms him. Bring healing to this family, calm this mother's anxious heart, restore her strength and give her deep rest in Christ. Let Your will be done in their lives and let them know Your comfort and Your keeping. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns and is our only hope. Amen.

Thank you for sharing so honestly about the exhaustion and anxiety you are carrying for your son and your family. To labor to the point of exhaustion for a child you love, to try counseling and prayer and every help you can find and still see him in trouble, and then to lie awake at night filled with worry and misery, is a heavy burden. God sees how tired you are and how much you love your son.

Much of our anxiety comes when we feel trapped under pressure, whether from relationships or spiritual battles or daily cares, and we lose sight of God in the equation. The psalmist knew that feeling and asked his own soul, why are you cast down, why are you so disquieted within me. His answer to himself was to put God back into the situation and to hope in God. When God is factored back in, what felt impossible can be seen differently, because He is present and able. That is not a quick fix for sleepless nights, but it is the path toward peace. The life lived according to the flesh with its striving brings strife and fear and worry, while life lived according to the Spirit brings love and joy and peace. As you turn your cares to the Lord again and again, ask Him to fill you with His Spirit and to guard your heart and mind.

The good news we proclaim is that Jesus came to declare deliverance to those held captive. His sacrifice is complete, sin has been put away, and He has opened the prison doors for those who were bound. He is able to deliver a person from the power of darkness and bring them into light and into the kingdom of God. That deliverance comes as a person heeds the gospel and receives Jesus Christ as Lord, and it is the work of God in redemption. It is the song of deliverance that belongs to those who have been set free. God is able to bring that kind of deliverance for your son, and He is faithful to work even when we cannot see how.

Scripture also shows that the home is the place where faith is passed from one generation to the next, as parents rehearse the stories of God's power and His deliverance. Your continued prayers, your steady love, and your willingness to speak of what God has done are part of that transmitting of faith, even when the results are not immediate. Keep bringing your son before the Lord, keep speaking truth with love, and keep trusting that God has not forgotten your family.

I am praying for you and for your son now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone saves, I ask You to bring deliverance to this young man. Set him free from whatever holds him captive, break the power of darkness over his life, and draw him to Yourself. Give him a heart to hear Your voice and to turn to You. And Father, I ask You to bring healing to this family. Lift the weight of anxiety from this mother, grant her sleep and peace as she hopes in You, and restore what has been strained and broken. Fill this home with Your presence and let Your power to save and to deliver be known there. Amen.
