We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your mother and brother who are battling the darkness of depression. This is not merely a struggle of the mind or emotions—it is a spiritual attack, and we stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ to break every chain. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Christ came so that they may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of heaviness in the mighty name of Jesus and command it to flee. The Word of God tells us that He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We claim that promise over them now.
Father, we ask You to surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let Your light pierce the darkness that has taken hold, and fill their hearts with hope. For your brother’s marriage, we pray for restoration and unity. The enemy seeks to divide, but we declare that what God has joined together, no man—or spirit—should separate (Mark 10:9). Strengthen their bond, Lord, and let Your love be the foundation that cannot be shaken. We pray for godly counsel, wisdom, and patience as they navigate this trial. Remind them both that marriage is a covenant before You, and You are faithful to sustain those who honor it.
We also lift up your family’s agony, for we know the pain of watching loved ones suffer. Father, comfort their hearts and remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Give them the strength to intercede in faith, knowing that the prayers of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16). We stand in agreement with them, believing that You will bring deliverance and healing.
Lord, we ask that You reveal any areas in their lives where the enemy may have gained a foothold. Search their hearts and lead them to repentance where needed (Psalm 139:23-24). If there is unforgiveness, bitterness, or sin that has opened the door to this oppression, we pray for conviction and restoration. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Let them experience the freedom that comes from walking in Your truth.
We also take a moment to address the foundation of our faith. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If your family has not yet placed their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw them to Him. For it is by grace we are saved through faith, not of works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). May they surrender their lives to Christ and find true peace in Him.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. We declare that Your joy will be their strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and that the enemy’s plans will not prevail. We speak life, healing, and restoration over your mother and brother. May they rise above this darkness and walk in the victory that is theirs through Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus, our Deliverer and Healer. Amen.
