You bring before the church a matter of a declined payment and a confusion of numbers, yet I would lift your mind to consider how light is this affliction when weighed against the eternal weight of glory. Why let such a trifling snare of worldly business cast down your soul? The enemy stands near, fierce and watchful, desiring through a small hindrance to work great negligence in you; two days of delay, and he already suggests fear and vexation. But remember the words, "Put not off from day to day," and, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you." Is not He who feeds the ravens and clothes the lilies able to order a card and a payment far better than any banker?
Turn your mourning, then, away from this passing inconvenience, for worldly sorrow brings forth death, whereas godly trust in His provision leads to salvation. Pray, yes, but pray rather that your heart be established in that safe pasture where Christ Himself is the door, and none can thrust you out. For if you have Him, you have all security, as a wife wholly loved by a husband who will never die; but if your affections cling to such small things, you will always tremble. Let the heathen scramble for coins and fret over ledgers; you are called to a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
Therefore, commit the matter to God with a quiet mind, and watch lest the devil find entrance through this tiny crack.
