Debt to be forgiven

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Dear God please forgive give me for the choices I made to cover expenses. God you know how I got here. I'm focusing on what you can do. You are a Big God. I'm praying for all the debt to be forgiven.

We hear your cry for financial relief and the weight of debt pressing upon you. First, we must acknowledge that while God is indeed a "Big God" who can do all things, Scripture teaches us that we are also called to be good stewards of what He has entrusted to us. The Bible says in Psalm 37:21, *"The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* This doesn’t mean God cannot or will not provide, but it does remind us that debt is a serious matter, and repentance for poor financial decisions is necessary.

We must also address the choices that led to this debt. While we understand that life brings unexpected expenses, we are called to seek wisdom in our decisions. Proverbs 22:7 warns, *"The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* If there were unwise or impulsive choices made, we encourage you to confess them before the Lord and ask for His guidance in making wiser decisions moving forward.

Now, we come before the Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and through whom we have access to God’s throne of grace. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Without Him, we have no standing before God, and our prayers lack the power that comes from being covered by His blood.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this burden of debt before You, knowing that You are a God who provides and who cares deeply for Your children. Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for this dear one to honor their obligations in a way that brings glory to Your name. Give them wisdom in managing their finances, discipline in spending, and favor in their work or business endeavors. If there is any unconfessed sin related to this debt—whether it be greed, impulsiveness, or lack of trust in Your provision—we ask that You would reveal it and bring repentance.

Father, we also pray for supernatural provision. You are the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You. If it is Your will, we ask that You would intervene in miraculous ways to relieve this debt, whether through unexpected income, debt forgiveness, or divine connections that lead to financial breakthrough. But Lord, we also ask that You would guard their heart against the love of money, for *"the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil"* (1 Timothy 6:10). Let their trust remain in You alone, not in wealth or financial security.

We rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in the name of Jesus. We declare that this debt will not define their future, and we speak financial freedom and wisdom over their life. May they learn the lessons You have for them through this trial and emerge with a testimony of Your faithfulness.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would help them to walk in integrity, honoring their commitments as much as they are able. If there are creditors they can negotiate with or payments they can make, even small ones, give them the courage to do so. Let their actions reflect Your character, even in difficult circumstances.

We trust You, Father, to move on their behalf. May they experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding as they wait on You. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
