prayer for my friend whose ### wife, ### mother, ### sister, died of breast cancer, her ### is a very ### in a bad situation after funeral. Emotional prayer for him and their family.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother and his family who are walking through the valley of the shadow of death. The loss of a wife, mother, and sister to breast cancer is a profound grief, and we stand with them in this time of sorrow, clinging to the hope we have in Christ Jesus.

First, we must address the foundation of our faith—salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If this family does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw them to Him, for He is the resurrection and the life, and whoever believes in Him, though they die, yet shall they live (John 11:25-26). If they do know Him, we pray they would lean into His promises, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to overwhelm this family. We declare that You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We pray for this grieving husband, father, and brother—sustain him by Your grace. Strengthen him when he is weak, uphold him when he stumbles, and remind him that You are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

For the children who have lost their mother, we ask for Your tender mercy. Wrap them in Your love and give them peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with godly influences who will point them to You, for You are a father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5). May they find solace in Your Word and in the community of believers who can walk alongside them.

For the siblings and extended family, we pray for unity and mutual support. Let them bear one another’s burdens, fulfilling the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). May they find strength in gathering together, praying together, and encouraging one another in the faith.

We also lift up the practical needs of this family. The aftermath of a funeral can bring financial strain, emotional exhaustion, and uncertainty about the future. Lord, provide for every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Open doors of opportunity, surround them with wise counsel, and give them wisdom to navigate this season with faith and trust in You.

Father, we ask for healing—not just of the body, for that sister has gone to be with You—but for the hearts of those left behind. Heal their grief, Lord. Remind them that though sorrow may last for the night, joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Help them to remember the good memories, to celebrate the life that was lived, and to hold fast to the hope of reunion in eternity.

We rebuke any lies from the enemy that would tell this family they are alone or that their pain is meaningless. We declare that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even in this loss, You are at work, drawing hearts to Yourself and refining faith like gold.

Lord, we pray for the church and the body of believers to rally around this family. May they not walk through this valley alone but be surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ who will pray for them, serve them, and remind them of Your faithfulness. Let them see Your love in action through the hands and feet of Your people.

Finally, we pray for the salvation of any in this family who do not yet know You. May this trial soften their hearts to the gospel, and may they come to know the peace that only Jesus can give. For those who do know You, may their faith be strengthened, and may they emerge from this trial with a deeper trust in Your sovereignty and goodness.

We trust You, Lord, to be their strength in weakness, their hope in despair, and their light in darkness. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We lift up the family, asking God to wrap them in His love and surround them with His peace. For the children, we pray they would know the comfort of their heavenly Father, finding solace in His Word and the support of their family and church community.
