Disciple of Prayer
Dear Prayer Warriors, I am very frightened for my 21 year old daughter. She has been dating a boy she met in college for 3 years now. The boyfriend has been living with the Pastor of the Written Epistles Church for Jesus Christ for approximately 6-7 years. My daughter started following the boyfriends views on religion, his teachings and attending church with him. Now, don't get me wrong, I am happy she spiritual however.......I feel she is being brained washed by Pastor Wade Brown and by the boyfriend. They are teaching her all other churches are telling lies, that she must tithe and give offerings to the point she is borrowing money from the Pastor and boyfriend because she has given it all to the church.She is still in college. They are making her turn away and against her family (shunning) and friends. She is only allowed to be with church members. She is now being told she is a "Chosen One." No makeup, jewelry, jeans or slacks, sandals, hair must be covered, women are very submissive to Pastor. (Pastor drives a Rolls Royce, has several other cars, and lives in an upper class neighborhood) Pastor wears expensive clothing,shoes, watch, bracelet and cuff links. Yet women in congregation looks like they got on hand me down clothing. So many red flags to list. My daughter used to be full of life and joy; laughter and happiness. I never had any trouble out of my daughter, no drugs, no boyfriends good grades, loved her family. She now is a very changed person. She believes if something goes wrong it is because you don't love the Lord enough, you don't have enough faith, you must have received the Holy Spirit and babble, scream, jump and and down uncontrollably in church service. (When i have visited the church it is always the same women behaving that way) What I am telling you is just the tip of the iceberg. We used to be close and now she doesn't want anything to do with me. I feel like I have lost her. I pray that God puts a protective shield around her to keep away false profits, false teachings, protect her from those that mean to take advantage of her and that she opens her eyes to see that she is being brainwashed by the church and boyfriend. I pray that the truth comes out on the Pastor. I pray for my daughter and our family to be restored. I just don't know what to do...............
